As the Russian proverb says: "You can't put a scarf on every mouth." They said, they say and they will, nothing can be done about it! Personally, I don't care. Only questions like "how is the political situation there, should we go or not?" enrage and annoy. This is where I want to ask such topic starters: why do you need a head, what, just wear a hat ??? Credulous, damn it! In all other respects, one must really understand why and why we choose Egypt. One of the main selection criteria, probably for everyone, is the PRICE. And here you really need to understand where and for what money you are going. Otherwise, the Maldives, the Caribbean, etc. How much did you pay and what did you get! Personally, I have never been disappointed with the chosen hotel, everything is known in advance about the service, food, and even what kind of fish hang out in the local coral-lion. You just have to make the effort to read the reviews. You should not expect from Beirut 3 * what awaits you in Albatross, Sunrise and even more so Steinberger and Savoy. The reality of plans - to the masses! Then there will be no anger and bile in the reviews, but only information content and your own view of the rest. This is IMHO.

We were in Mars in September, our friends were there in November, lovers of the Red Sea from Sharm arrived right before the New Year - everyone is delighted with the sea, no disappointments, although there are some deteriorations. But for true lovers of the Red Sea, these are trifles that you don’t pay attention to. Choose the right hotel and everything will be OK!

Thank you for your opinion. What did I write. I here had the imprudence to intervene in the discussion of reviews about the hotel, about which I also wrote a positive review. People write such things, not always choosing expressions, that the next time they write something and advise people something disappears. Although I myself always use with gratitude someone's information, both good and bad. Thank you that there are still tourists who can support and defend their opinion.

I always use the reviews of other tourists, but I always filter out the necessary information for myself (and this is information primarily about the sea, the beach).
Sometimes you read such empty reviews, where people focus on which direction they had a view from the window, or what kind of plumbing and dust in the corner of the closet .... but there is not a word about the beach.
I love Egypt and, if possible, a beach holiday, so far it remains in first place in our family.

TanjaYad, there have always been good and bad reviews for this or that hotel or resort. It does not depend on the situation in the country and this is normal. Everyone is different, everyone has different priorities. Depending on this, they write. Pink snot in reviews bothers me much more than some remark about the room, food, or something else. Reading reviews in the same way filters what is useful to him and what is not. For example, I will gladly go to a hotel that was given 2 points by some Slavic youngsters with the wording "boring, pensioner, they don't pour, they don't like Russians" :)
About disappointments - I have never been especially fanatic about Egypt ... Normally, you can go sometimes, the sea is beautiful, but not delight-delight !!! like many.

The fact is that people write reviews as they see it all. you read reviews about the same hotel: one is positive, and one is not. and the line is always traced: if people fly here for the positive, they get it, if they fly and fly in pink clouds and God forbid something did not correspond to their imagination - all atas!
I respect people who are preparing for a vacation: they don’t have disappointments, they already know everything and looked at the map of the hotel from the satellite and looked at the nearest discos on this map and upon arrival they asked to settle in such a building, so that away from discos (there were such tourists cataracts). they had a complete preparatory complex for choosing a hotel. and when I ask - how is the hotel? in response, everything is as we expected and read in the reviews. I'm not saying that there are no problems in hotels, I'm talking about the fact that people sometimes catch on a burning tour not what they expected (especially if the vacation is long-awaited).
It is necessary to read the reviews correctly when preparing for a vacation. and to phrases everything is bad, everything is a nightmare to respond only if the docks are provided. it's my opinion.

Thank you all for peace of mind. It's nice to read the opinions of sane people. And it's good that there are like-minded people. So not everything is so bad in "our kingdom". And then I already had thoughts of leaving the site and not writing anything else, that I wouldn’t run into negativity. Judging by the fact that some familiar names have disappeared, who have been participating in discussions for years, they did just that, unable to withstand the attacks against them. If it goes on like this, soon there will be no one to ask a question, there will be no adequate experienced tourists left. Thank you for still holding on. I would like to hope for further normal communication, otherwise where am I without your advice.

I returned from Thailand - I didn’t rest ... I’m waiting for April and to Egypt !!!!! And I don’t give a damn about the rallies in Cairo !!! I have already gone to the pyramids twice. If I can manage the money, I will go to Desert Rose. There are now a lot of live corals and interesting fish.

I had 10 trips to Egypt in 10 years: Hurghada6-Sharm3-Dahab1-Cairo2-Luxor1-Alexandria1 (number of visits). Plus, they went to Israel from there.
But since 2010 we have stopped going to Egypt due to various events there. And switched to European tours. If in Egypt they ever become adequate again, we may continue. So far, frankly, it's creepy.
We considered the option of Eilat - but it started there too.
