The trip is a gift for my daughter's 18th birthday. Please, I really need advice)
We want to organize a family vacation (3 people) in January. This trip is a birthday present for my daughter. We have already been to Sharm, she is flying to Egypt for the first time. I want to make this trip thoughtful and memorable. A big request - please advise a hotel with a good sandy beach, possibly in a bay (so that there is no wind), with beautiful territory, quality food (preferably - the owner is not an Arab), a heated pool, interesting animation, not a long transfer. We are planning a 4 * hotel and probably not in Sharm anymore to see new places. Thank you very much to everyone who takes the time to answer us!

It is very difficult to give advice on such criteria. How old is the daughter? That's important. It is cold in Egypt in January, so a hotel with a bay is a good idea. My birthday is also in January and I like to spend it in Yegi. The only hotel with no wind close to Hurghada, sandy beach, food, what I like is Nabila. I wrote a review - read it. But I won’t say how it is with animation in Russian and who is the owner. There were animators, there are pools, the territory is mountainous, there is not much greenery, but on the beach (which is extensive) the wind does not blow, so it is not cold. Programs start late, boring for young people. Coral Beach (not far from Hurghada) this year pleased with the fact that the animation began almost immediately after 19:00, dinner. There was a little room to dress up. But the food was lean and varied. But the beach, corals and fish were the main thing for me. Details and photos on my page.

Sorry, I didn't notice.... 18 years old.! Difficult ... Animation is better in Coral (it was in autumn), but the winds in winter on Coral beach (open beach) are strong. But on the beach and gymnastics and games (volleyball, balls ... I forgot the name). There is tennis and billiards on site (vouchers are issued for free time), there is one free bus to Hurghada. Animator Jamaica and the company are trying, in the early evening of the program ... But, maybe someone will advise better ...

Thank you, Matveika, for very interesting suggestions. We will definitely discuss everything at the family council! For Nubila - special thanks, review - class!

Nabila - not the only hotel in Hurghada, where "not blowing".
There is another great hotel in Sahl Hasheesh - Dessole Pyramisa. The food is just excellent, very active animation. Beach - there is a sandy entrance and a reef near the shore. The hotel is green, cozy, there are water slides, a heated pool. There is also a place to go outside the hotel - a small promenade is organized there.
Of course, in Sharm, the choice of hotels in the bays will be longer. Plus various interesting places outside the hotel - such as Soho Square, Hollywood Park, Naama Bay, El Mercato, 1000 and 1st nights, discos.

From many years of experience in Egypt during this period, Hurghada does not exist for me. Wind. There is no desire to swim in the sea. Charm = ideal. It remains to choose a bay. - quality.

In Hurghada, there is only one win-win option for the sea-beach - Al Nabila, as advised above. The pyramid was not even close to being protected from the winds. In Sharm, an excellent option in the only sandy bay of El Maya - Iberotel Palace. Hotel "Child free" European level, but will the price suit? So the hotel is great!

Mirage Hawaii 4 * - very good option. And the food is excellent, and it does not blow, and the bass is heated. And the price is good. I can recommend!

PolikSVT, I personally did not see anything good, except for the beach in Nabil. The whole territory of the hotel is on a hill, bald, uncomfortable, and it blows decently there. The hotel itself is not a fountain in terms of food, service.
As for the Pyramis, it has a really advantageous location, the wind is minimal there. I judge by my experience of staying in December and the experience of my tourists in January-February. And in terms of food and service, the comfort of the territory, Nabile is very far from Pyramisa.

Thank you all so much for your valuable advice and suggestions! Now we will make a decision. I will write about the results.)

amazon_ka, Like I clearly wrote that this is a "win-win option for the sea-beach." I am aware of the bald territory and everything else. Recently, I have the impression that they stopped going to Egypt for its main value - the SEA)) Everyone cares only about the number of assortment positions of different types of food))) I also like high service and delicious food, BUT in winter in Egypt for 7-9 days (they rarely go for a long time) the main thing is to swim comfortably and get your ultraviolet charge, and not fill your stomach. Therefore, the IDEAL OPTION in this regard is Al Nabila. When a black flag is hung in neighboring hotels, people in the "bald and hungry" hotel are basking in the sea. By the way, I would never recommend this hotel for the high season. When there is a choice.

PolikSVT, thanks for your opinion! You are absolutely right that in Egypt the sea is the main value. But the current tourist is already so spoiled and experienced that he absolutely does not want dirty hotel rooms or unceremonious staff to add to this value. It seems to me that this site exists for this - make no mistake with the choice thanks to tourism gurus like you. Thank you very much for your recommendations!

niksvitlana, thanks for the kind words! Indeed, here we draw from each other a lot of useful and necessary information. And recently we (I mean all tourists) have had a real financial opportunity to choose hotels in aggregate, taking into account many selection parameters. Today, the situation in the foreign exchange market and in the tourism industry as a whole forces us to set priorities again, as in this case. Thanks for the "guru", but "I'm just learning," as the little wizard used to say in the Cinderella story. I wish you a pleasant stay, new experiences and a good choice!

Dear, blowing or not blowing - this is a rhetorical question. It blows everywhere, only this wind seems to someone "does not blow", but to someone it "blows away on the go". Everyone tried to ride a motorcycle at 60 km / h ?! Someone feels comfortable, and someone on the next day will receive a prize - a sore in the ears, eyes, etc. Have you all tried to swim in the ice hole in winter?! Someone bathes every day in the morning and in the evening, and someone from the mere thought of this pre-fainting state. Therefore, advice: choose a hotel based on reviews regarding service (food, housekeeping, etc.), hotel condition, staff attitude, accessibility to the city, some attractions, because. the hotel may be great for you, but for an 18-year-old girl it will be nothing. From myself I can advise from inexpensive Melia Sinai. I have a review about it. I can confirm that I personally felt comfortable there in the winter. Good luck in your search.

Why then in Egypt ???))) choose any hotel closer to home with good service - and voila - REST)))

Travelers! Well, it's a really difficult question! Combine incompatible. But get sick on your birthday! WOW! I'm not the first time in Yegi at the end of January - blows away. I had bronchitis in the summer after Coral Beach, when I climbed into our river. And although I love him, I won’t go to my DR for life. As well as to the south, in Marsa Alam. Blows off, black flags. Only Nabila in winter. There are also winds in Sharm - it was warm on our arrival, but it was already difficult to breathe. There are terrible waves in Sharks Bay. And in Nabil, I went down to the beach, around the mountains, the lagoon, you sit and warm yourself. Then dived - there is something to see. In the canteen - you need to take the stairs, training. And all the entertainment - in Hurghada. I think the guide will be able to offer something. But you can’t run all the time and “hang out” in the sun, gorge yourself in between. I would like to enjoy the sea, but in the wind it is not possible. And if you please a girl, you can go to Hurghada a couple of times during your vacation. There is an Aquapark, a Dolphinarium, shops (shopping - yes!) + excursions. Just think over an entertainment plan, and it is better to relax in a quiet hotel, where the sea is always available. I have a friend in February in Golden Fife NEVER swam - it was blown away! is this necessary?

To each his own. For me, the Red Sea with its beauties, and for someone an artificial lagoon-puddle. Then, like most Germans, a pool is enough. It feels like someone works in Nabil and heavily advertises ...... Yes, in ShARMA NABC Bay, where you can't see the sea and blows away...
аватар Matveika
I would give anything to work in Nabil! :) Immediately the main boss! :) I remembered that the last time there were animators (youth) were Italians and ours, Mouzon rattled on the sandy beach in the morning, something was the same in the evening ... There is also a Diver Club, so there was such a "macho" walking .... :) Few people refused diving :)... In general, if you set a goal, you can find something to do. Well, I posted a photo of the dolphinarium in Hurghada, look. As one of the gifts, swim with dolphins! Original - will be something to brag to your friends! I just hugged - full of happiness ... uh ... :) well, you understand! :) In Nabil there are water slides (I had enough adrenaline), but in the Titanic Hotel there is also a water park, but there is no sea ....
