No one will give a guarantee for the wind, how lucky. The best corals are in Sharm. Hotels: Coral Beach Montaza 4*, Baron 5*. Melia Sharm 5*, Melia Sinai 5*. Everywhere the entrance to the sea from the pontoon. The price of hotels varies greatly, as does the service. I have been to Melia Sinai once, twice to Coral Beach Montaza. Baron is the most expensive and, as they say, the most pleasant in terms of food and service. All these hotels are nearby - they have a common pedestrian promenade. Between Baron and Montaza there is a small quarter with shops. The corals and fish are amazing.

If your budget allows, check out the Reef Oasis Beach Hotel. The most windless bay and excellent sea. Entrance both from the pontoon and from the shore. The coral is still alive and colorful.

Mars is the best option for living creatures and corals, BUT you are flying with children. It takes 4-4.5 hours to get there after the flight by bus. Of course, the bus is comfortable, you can read, watch movies, but will the children survive? Return pick up 8 hours before departure. In Mars, for children and adults, the best is Shams Alam - a gentle sandy entrance and awesome corals, and most importantly - YOU CAN ALWAYS SWIMM! There the reef closes from the waves. But Marsa is more expensive compared to Sharm

I was in Port Ghalib in 2015, the weather is song, there is no wind, though at the end of September, the Rehana hotel (but now it is closed), the entrance from the coast, I have never seen a fabulous sea, even in Sharks Bay (AA Grand Oasis Hotel) there was no such beauty as in Port Ghalib and for children there is a normal entrance, even turtles and dugongs swim in the sea, which is not even close in Sharm! The only negative is to fly to Hurghada, and then 3-4 hours by bus, but since October there have been direct flights to Mars !!!!))) True from Kyiv (Zhulyany airport) The author, I would sincerely advise you to Mars or the same Galib, but I won’t tell you about the wind and the hotel - ask around in TA. Children will love it there, they will swim like in an aquarium)))

I read about Marsa Alam many times, but from the comments of the tourists who went there, and my friends and relatives, I realized that Sharm is no worse. And since Sharm has pontoons (unlike Marsa), and I know exactly where the best reefs are in Sharm, there is no alternative to Sharm for me. Perhaps in a couple of years I will change my mind, but for now I only fly to places where I am 100% sure that I will see a lot of fish. None of my friends even saw turtles in Mars, and in Sharm we saw turtles, flocks of dolphins, and Napoleons close by - drop dead beautiful huge fish, moreover, right under the hotel's pontoon.
