I would like to hear reviews about the resort of Marsa Alam. Who was and in what hotels? What did you like and what not? Is the underwater world (reef) better than in Sharm?
By the way, I'm looking for a travel companion for November

the same eggs, only in a blur (s) - does it make sense to go there in winds and storms and in hotels that are worse (on average) than in Sharm?

It makes sense to go to Marasa Alam during the season, and then if the plane flies to Marsa and not to Hurghada, it is windy in November, there are no bays closed from the wind like in Sharm. I was there at the Braika Bay hotel in 2007, an Italian hotel, the bay is good, there was something to see. Nearby you can go to Abu Galum Bay and see dugong and turtles (if you're lucky), then it cost 35 demolition tanks from the hotel
Not far from Mars Alam Luxor, and there you must see Karnak and the Valley of the Kings with tombs

We were in Kahramana Beach Resort 5 * in 2015, I really liked it, the fish there are really 2 times more than in Sharm, and the reefs are completely different ... it was possible to go to Abu Galum Bay from our hotel for 2 dollars every day, but us and their bays were very good, one of them was CLOSED from the wind. Dugong and turtles were not seen there, only once someone shouted what he sees, but by the time we got there, they had swum away... ;-) you can read my review about Kahraman at http://kozyreva.ucoz.ru/ blog/.

You are right about the wind. If you're not lucky, you may hang a red flag and see little. And on the beach, too, will not be comfortable. If you don’t know exactly why you want to go to Marsa Alam, then it’s more comfortable in Sharm. I can recommend Free Corners Fayrouz in Marsa Alam. There is a bay nearby where the dugong swims, and turtles can also be found there. There is also a small cove with a gentle entry into the sea, where you can also swim when the pontoon is closed. Been there twice and will go again.

We recently had a rest in Port Galib. In general, better than Charm, turtles every day, although I expected more from corals. Be sure to go to Sataya Reef, swim with dolphins. He took the tour from Olga (+ 20101037545four), who lives in Mars Alami. I also saw a dugong.

In Port Ghalib closed by a bay.
And in winter, there is a chance that you will at least be allowed into the sea.
But in any case, the wind will be decent.
For some reason, it is in the winter that Féeria flies a direct flight to Marsa Alam.
No one else from TO has direct flights.

Direct flights appeared at Join Up. They are much better than Fairy. Shams Alam - a wonderful hotel closed from the wind with a beautiful underwater world. Fairose - beauty is almost always inaccessible from the wind, but there is a bay, but it has gray reefs. But near Mubarak Bay, where you can always swim, but go 10 minutes. Sunrise - in Port Ghalib, the bay is closed from the winds, beautiful, but small

I don't recommend Sunrise at all. If you are not lucky with the number, then the rest will be ruined

I was in Marsa Alam last October, at the Port Ghalib hotel. I liked everything very much, but there were winds, but they didn’t interfere with my rest. We swam when we wanted)) we saw turtles, no dugongs ((I also really liked the trip to the dolphins, emotions just overwhelmed !! !! on the same day we caught rain and a thunderstorm, there was something))) I liked Marsa Alam very much, I’ve just been to Sharm 10 times, so I wanted something new, I’ll definitely go there again !!!!

Also, were in the hotel Kahramana. For a long time. Very good hotel, beautiful reef, there is a "paddling pool" with carved corals, in case of strong waves. The food is European, good, though without abundance)). Very decent, not expensive was then the hotel. Recommend.
