Just a couple of words are required for understanding. The main phrases in Russian are known by almost all the service personnel, we had no problems in communication. Very rarely (about a couple of times during the entire vacation), but sign language helped :). We even managed to make friends with the waiter, who initially knew only "Hello, friend!" in Russian, but by the end of the holiday we could already tell in a few phrases how the day went, and we already understood him a little, learned how it works, how he lives, etc.
