I don't know about food outside the hotel in Egypt. But the second half of May in Sharm will certainly be very hot, not long walks with a child. Better all the same, Hurghada and its environs, IMHO of course.

In Hurghada, I can recommend a 4 * hotel for TS, it used to be called LillyLand, now Mirage Bay Reasort & Aquapark, a very green hotel, a shallow sandy lagoon, and you can swim among the corals from the bridges. There are buildings and bungalows. It is often inconvenient to swim in Hurghada on the beach of the hotel due to low tides, this hotel has a lagoon, there are no tidal fluctuations of the sea. And most importantly - the hotel has its own water park for children. and for adults. When I was resting there were citizens of Kazakhstan, so you can find vouchers there. You need to prioritize - if reefs and fish are not important to you, then of course with children Hurghada is the best option! But there are many hotels in Sharm with sloping beaches and at the same time there are slides and small reefs - read Maritim Jolie Ville Resort & Casino 5 - my friends flew there now on May 3 for the 3rd time with children !! Naama Bay, no winds, the center is nearby, there is where to walk, there are slides, a gentle beach, decent food and service - you will be satisfied, for 2x - 850 dollars from Kharkov.

there is no reef on Albatross beach! but from their beach about 7-10 minutes to the left along the shore to pass - and a beautiful live reef. but the beach is wild, without sunbeds and umbrellas, and when the sun is hot, you can quickly burn out. on the photo - a wild beach.

Take Domina Coral Bay Oasis for yourself (Aquamarine will cost $200-300 more). The beach is nearby, the sea from the pontoon and the shore, the food is good, snacks on the shore. Corals are beautiful, lots of fish! There are 2 pools on the pontoon. Wi-fi throughout the territory almost catches, in the rooms, for free. There are no water parks, slides, many pools. And then the question is why exactly do you eat slides or a good beach ?! Were a week ago, then rested tourists from Kazakhstan and Belarus. Rested there already 3 times with a child and everyone is satisfied. Families with newborn and older children were seen on the shore. Due to the large beach, there is a lot of space, 2 sunbeds for 1 umbrella. I think you will have enough money for the whole family All incl. 10 days around 2000. Look and read reviews.
