Excursions to Luxor
Please tell me if there are excursions to Luxor from the hotel, how much it costs, how long it takes. Are there souvenir shops, jewelry, a pharmacy and a related goods store (tanning products, shampoos, etc.) in the hotel. What can I do to have fun in the evening? Thanks for the answer.

Yes, of course, or more precisely, there should be ... At least with Sunrise Mamluk Palace in January, there were ...

Excursions to Luxor take almost the whole day and even the night can take hours until 21-22.

You can go to Luxor from any hotel, book in advance via the Internet. We left around 6pm and arrived at 10pm. Go on an excursion in closed cotton clothes, with a headdress and a FAN (it helped a lot). Do not wear shorts, you can get burned. On the tour, be sure to take a boat ride on the Nile from a visit to the banana island (for an additional fee, $ 10).
Pleasant impressions!

pussy! Apparently I made a mistake - the departure of the convoy at 6 am, and not in the evening, 5-6 hours away.

No need to argue, friends! You are both right... It's just that different tour operators offer different options for departure and return.
We always buy excursions from the tour operator with which we fly to Egypt. It's a personal matter for everyone, just sharing my experience:
From the Citadel we went to Luxor with Coral Travel. We bought from the guide Coral, who happens to be at the hotel every day. I don't remember the price. Departure was at 2 am. We arrived in Luxor around 8-9 am. While people were gathered at other hotels, until we arrived ... The path is tiring, of course! The bus was cold at night. But in Luxor itself - the heat. They took water from the Citadel - 4 small bottles. In the lobby bar at any time of the day they give takeaway (exactly in the Citadel). Warm clothes and excess water can be left on the bus (the tour consists of parts). The tour itself is interesting. A walk along the Nile was included in it for FREE (this is from OUR tour operator). We returned to the hotel around 22:00. Succeeded for dinner))
Different tour operators have different things!

Don't know! By six in the morning, from 70 to 100 buses were gathering in the sump and this convoy slowly (no more than 60-70 km / h) dragged to Luxor. True, it was last winter. A walk along the Nile with Banana Island paid extra. local wholesale for a group of 8 people, it was much cheaper than the TO, the travel conditions were equivalent, there was a bus from the TO in front.

There are shops in the Citadel. Souvenir, super-market (everything for a shower and sunbathing, including), jewelry, etc. etc. But the pharmacy is strange ... Separately, it does not exist in the form of a store. But the doctor (next to the reception) has a "pharmacy". You can buy medicines. However, if you get sick, it is better to go to the doctor under insurance (the guest relay will tell you how to do everything) and he will give all the necessary medicines for free. Although, it is better to take a first-aid kit with you from home. And one more thing: in Egypt there is NO Linex or similar preparations containing "beneficial" bacteria. In the case of antibiotic treatment, dysbacteriosis may begin, which doctors suggest treating with other antibiotics))) It's up to you, but if you do not exclude the possibility of using such drugs, then keep in mind: their doctors and pharmacists are not aware of probiotics at all.

In the evening: dinner + sit in the lobby (order something with or without alcohol in the bar), listen to the pianist, sit with a laptop (Wi-Fi is free) play billiards (free of charge).
Then there is live music on the terrace near the main restaurant (with a bar and candles, sometimes they dance).
Show in the amphitheater for 30 minutes. It can be interesting (more often - visiting artists, not animators perform).
You can return to the terrace, or to the hookah (nearby, also free of charge).
When the live music ends (around 12 midnight), the disco begins in the Fan Bar (under the lobby). She is until 2 am. At first there may be few people, but somewhere around one o'clock it's already fun. The bar and entrance is also free.
On Saturdays, instead of a terrace and a disco in the Fan Bar, there is a beach disco (in front of the 5th building). Barbecue, drinks, a big fire, live music and a small performance, and then a DJ (we had until 2 am, but sometimes the people from the 5th building in a frenzy "attack" the managers to urgently stop this "disgrace", because they need to sleep, and the music is very loud ... and then they can finish for about an hour.
Well, that's probably all the entertainment.
For a change, instead of the usual dinner, you can go to a la carte. Everything is free.

From the "personal" ... Here's an option for entertainment for the evening: take a flashlight from home with you (the more powerful it shines, the better), grab a bun from dinner and go to the lighthouses. Flashlight into the water, crumble the bun, look at the fish))) It is possible without the bun (so that later the sharks do not swim, as in Sharm). And it is possible in any other place, and not just at the lighthouse. Hedgehogs crawl out on corals at night, it’s generally interesting to watch!

Souvenirs are cheaper to buy on the way back at the airport. But the hotel is better because no fuss. And you can and should bargain with sellers in the hotel! Someone wrote that it is impossible - it is NOT so! Bargain!!!
Shampoos and everything for tanning are cheaper to buy at home than there. But the mask + snorkel - the hotel will be 13 dollars. In our city, such goods are more expensive. In the Citadel, they give you a mask, fins, and snorkel for free, but it’s not hygienic (in my opinion) - after someone, take a rubber thing in your mouth ... It’s better to buy your own.

Yes, they also have probiotic medicines in Egypt, they just have slightly different strains ... Their strains of microbes will not suit Europeans!

It is better to take not at the hotel, but from local firms, for example, Marwan Tours. I have been friends with them for many years. The price is 55 dollars. Souvenirs take in the luxor from local merchants in the course of the play.

The story of how I bought a scarab near Luxor: “Madame, only one dollar! One dollar !! dollar!". With difficulty I already pick out my scarab from him (by the way, very beautiful), by the way, as it was later calculated for 6d. In general, they sell for five. But sometimes for one, but not near Luxor! And never get it at them a purse if it's not a store.

Rested in Dessole (near the Citadel). We left for the tour at five in the morning and returned for dinner at seven or eight.
