For breakfast and lunch, no one really bothers. But for dinner, it’s even nice to change clothes, to see ladies in long or simply elegant dresses. Being in a beach resort for the first time in a modest Turkish foursome, we learned these simple things. And when you see a contingent at dinner in a pareo on a wet swimsuit, salted shorts and unclean slippers, it’s somehow annoying for people: do they really not see how the bulk of the vacationers are dressed for dinner?

It's not a negative, it's a surprise. There is no strict dress code anywhere, they will not force the husband to wear a tie or a business suit anywhere. But trousers are, excuse me, elementary norms of decency. They can be light, casual, made of light natural fabrics, but of normal length, not shortened in any way.
