What to wear on excursions to Meteora?
I read that they will not be allowed into the Metiorskie monasteries in shorts, open T-shirts, women in trousers. Is it so? And do I need to wear a headscarf, as when visiting a regular church?

In 2010 we visited all the monasteries, except for one. The husband was in shorts (albeit long, just below the knee), the girlfriend was in jeans. We all did not feel any "laurel" requirements. Were without headscarves, kerchiefs, etc. Nobody looked at us askance, nobody said anything. There were a lot of tourists with groups - ordinary tourists, not pilgrims. Then a group of "ours" appeared, apparently pilgrims, in headscarves, scarves, wrapped up, all in skirts. They stood out from the general background.

This is true. The Greeks do not require women to cover their heads in temples. Most Greek women go to temples in trousers, this is also a local feature. But shorts are not accepted, neither for men nor for women, it is not customary to bare shoulders, wear all sorts of tops and T-shirts. In general, if the clothes are too open, you can throw a scarf over your shoulders.

We were in 2011 on Meteora. I myself went in shorts. At the entrance to the monastery you will be given a hoodie like a skirt. You wear it and that's it! Scarves are not required to be worn.
