There are no bans on snorkeling in Greece. Swim for health.
Another question is what you will see there.
If you want to see beautiful corals, then they simply do not exist off the coast of Greece, as well as in general in the Mediterranean Sea. And accordingly, there are no such bright and beautiful fish as in the Red Sea. Of course, there are islands of life in the Mediterranean, but it makes no sense to compare them with the reefs of the Red Sea. And of course you will meet the living creatures living off the coast of the Middle Sea, but without much abundance, everything will be piecemeal and everything will be gray.

In the Mediterranean Sea, the fish are gray, there are no corals, nothing interesting under the water.

thank you very much for your reply!

In Crete, we somehow got into the "Octopus Bay" (a very beautiful place, I tell you).
So that's how I was surprised by the diversity of living creatures under water. Kanesh does not reach EG, but the variety of fish was impressive. Well, there are no corals.

In Greece, mainly diving - they dive to sunken ships, to the remains of ancient cities
And snorkeling is completely uninteresting compared to Egypt

If not fish and corals, I consider for myself an option in Cyprus (historical and cultural roots are the same Greece) diving Ayia Napa Underwater Sculpture Museum, in addition to diving, you can go snorkeling or freediving

I haven’t tried it myself, I can’t answer by snorkeling. The sea, rocks, coast, in any case, there are very colorful, for sure you can take beautiful photos there

Here I like peremptoryness - there is nothing under water!
Especially from those who did not do snorkeling in Greece)))
You know - Greece has everything! (from)
If TC is fond of snorkeling, then in Greece he will find something to do!
I recommend Corfu, I especially liked Kassiopi.

There are beautiful multi-colored fish on about. Skiathos and Halkidiki (blue, grey, zebra, red, orange) are mainly impressive in the structure of the bottom, in places where the mountain is in contact with the sea. An underwater museum has recently been opened on the island of Alonissos. Ancient ship from the 5th century BC (3 centuries later than Homer) is waiting for its visitors. Everything is like in a fairy tale: octopuses, chests, amphorae, schools of fish and a shallow depth. Now it is a very popular trend.

There are also goldfish. This is already at the foot of Mount Olympus, near the town of Litohoro

Kasja23 no one said that there is nothing under water in the Mediterranean Sea. For diving, there are enough interesting places and grottoes, and sunken ships. both underwater rocks and Ayia Napa were mentioned, but this is all diving and at least you need to sail away from busy beaches for this.
And brusova.tatiana, it seems to me, is asking about snorkeling, when you go into the water from a sunbed and swim at a depth of a couple of meters with your booty looking at the sun. In this option, you won’t see much beauty compared to the Red Sea and you won’t touch it with your hand. Stones, algae, and separately swimming fish are the main set for standard snorkeling.
And from the point of view of beautiful photos, there is a lot that can be done even in any river or pond, for this you just need to be able to look not as a viewer, but as a photographer, these are slightly different views.

@andreyvip thanks, yes, I mean a couple of meters from the shore, like in Egypt. I haven’t been to Greece, I can’t imagine at all) Thanks for the answers, everything is clear now;) They said in Greece the sea is better than in Egypt, I thought that maybe there are more living creatures you can see - everyone immediately thinks about his own)

The sea in Greece is different depending on the depth, the coast itself and the currents. But the water is definitely softer. Lots of beautiful views. And the view of Crete from the rocks in Balos Bay is generally gorgeous, three seas merge there, I highly recommend visiting.

So these are all photos from the snork, not from diving. Of course, not a couple of meters from the shore,
but not at great depths - up to 5m. Well, snork in Greece and Turkey for those who know
where to look for something interesting - under the piers, on poles and ropes, in the technical areas of hotels,
on the parking lots of boats, on the rocks and wild beaches. It's clear that on the sandy beach between the legs
you won't see many tourists

Yes, you can snorkel off the coast in Greece. This activity is quite popular in many places with crystal clear water and many sea creatures. Some of the popular snorkeling spots in Greece include the island of Crete, Santorini, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Rhodes, Halkidiki and Corfu. There are many tour operators that offer snorkeling tours in different parts of Greece, but you can also just grab a mask and head out to explore the marine life on your own. However, as in any country, it is worth remembering about safety and compliance with the rules of swimming.
