"" What is worth paying attention to?" "- yes, you need to pay attention to everything, you are going abroad.
To the hotel, for food (cans, cereals), flight + transfer, where to sleep (bed with sidewalls), take a stroller or give it for rent, as well as a potty for a child ... or do you go in paipers? Then you need to stock up on this ... or buy it there.
And also insurance, pills, sunscreen baby cream, etc. etc.
Do you have to drag yourself with all this or does the baby want to REALLY have a rest?

I need to find out if the hotel has a "children's menu". My wife and I drove the youngest at the age of one, in the restaurant we prepared grated vegetable purees without salt and soups for him on order. If you don’t have this, you’ll get tired, you’ll cook for half a day .. We were also given a crib for a small one, with high sidewalls, this also needs to be clarified in advance.

dudarikova thanks for answering, but I don't understand WHY?
Vadim32 and in which hotel did you rest?

We rest in Chalkidiki in different hotels, but there is no fundamental difference. If there is a children's menu, they will cook what you order in the evening. By the way, we took our stroller, a seated one with a reclining back, so that we could sleep. It is VERY hard without a stroller, whether on the beach, in the city, or at the airport. The stroller is handed over to the stewardess at the gangway immediately before entering the plane and is picked up after landing there, in no case do not check it in luggage.

Vadim32 yeah ... thanks. Well, we are going to take a stroller anyway)
How did the baby cope with the flight?
аватар Vadim32
surprisingly calm, slept almost all the way, fed once in flight .. :) after that - every year :) at three or four years it’s already harder, you have to climb up, press the buttons, grab the front passengers (if you can’t get into the first row), but also tolerable.

And after five - it's quite easy, gave the PSP - it plays the whole flight :))

Mommy, think ten times before taking such a baby in the heat to a place that is not very prosperous (in terms of hygiene). Crete is very similar to Turkey in this, and even in good hotels there are cases of intestinal infections, and sheep often graze right on the beaches. And do not try to drink water from the tap or even coolers! Only from bottles.
I stayed at the Fodele Beach and Aldemar Cretan Village hotels. I and my family (I have an adult child) were very pleased with the rest. Many families (mostly foreigners) were with children in strollers, but it was difficult to carry them over mountainous terrain and numerous stairs. Netted cribs are provided, but their cleanliness is questionable. For example, in one of them (put out on the street after leaving the family room with a child), stray cats slept. It is unlikely that after that they undergo sanitation. In terms of food, there were both blenders and microwaves in the main restaurant. Some parents have prepared food for their babies in this way. But still, in my opinion, food from cans and packages is more reliable. Therefore, either take it with you, or look for such hotels where there are shops nearby. And stock up on medicines for all occasions. Have a good rest!

Thanks so much for your feedback SanSussie!
Tell me, are there shops near Aldemar?

Yes, there are a couple of small supermarkets in the immediate vicinity (slightly up the street when you exit the hotel gate). In general, this is a very good hotel with a large beautiful territory, the food there is really high quality. True, it is located, as it were, on terraces, so there are still stairs (although you can get to the beach along inclined paths, only longer). And the entrance to the sea is very uncomfortable (large rocky slabs). But this is not such a problem either. There are several cleared paths (the main one is on the left, near the pier), and the kids play at the very edge (there is sand and small pebbles).
Take a closer look at Agapi Beach and Anissa Beach. There is definitely sand, and they have good reviews. Although Aldemar is certainly more picturesque.
