restrictions on the export of alcohol from Greece
tell me how much you can take out the cognac "metaksa" home from Greece, and how much wine you can take out (home bought in the village is also taken into account?), if you are going together with a child, can we count the export for 2 people? and where is it still most profitable to buy cognac "metaksa" of various sizes, including souvenir ones (many orders), can anyone tell me? thanks

You know, I never knew how much you can carry :-) I put everything in my luggage and send it. Who is watching there? We brought grape brandy, metaxa, olive oil, liters from Crete. Nobody checked.
I took Metaxa in duty free in Heraklion.
And I’ll tell you more, our luggage (not hand luggage) was not checked at the airport at all, nowhere. Not in the Water Country we were flying to. Upon arrival, we pass through a green corridor with our heads held high and that's it :-)

According to the rules - no more than 3 liters per person, but there is duty free where you can buy good stuff.

It appears so, I read the customs regulations of Greece
Export of goods
The export from Greece of antiquities, including stones from archaeological excavations, as well as objects found at the bottom of the sea, is prohibited. If found in luggage, they are confiscated, and the violator is subject to criminal prosecution. Allowed free export of copies of antique works, which are sold everywhere.
This is all that is forbidden to export.
By the way, I do not remember at all the right to EXPORT alcohol from any country. IMPORT Yes, they don’t allow alcohol to be imported, every country is against it, but export .. you can export as much as you like, the main thing is to bring it in to your place :-) But then we go home along the green corridor ..

The export of alcohol from Greece is not limited, but according to the customs rules of Ukraine, you will not be able to import all the goods, because. there is a restriction on the import of no more than 3 liters. And they look, do not look customs officers - this is another question.

In! And our limit is not three liters, but 8 in total, of which vodka products in the amount of 1 liter, wine - 2 liters, beer - 5 liters
The customs officers don't look. Green corridor. But they can check randomly. Tourists from Turkey are especially shaken. Europe is almost never checked. But again, there are no penalties for carrying an extra bottle. In the peak case, it (extra) will simply be withdrawn.

thanks for answers! and duty free, as I understand it, is it at the airport after passing control, something like a shop?
аватар pora-vTur
Yes, it is located at the airport.

We once bought eight bottles of Metaxa, one liter, in duty. And it's all right. I saw that they take even more.

Moreover, the prices in duty free are lower, even the Greeks take alcohol there, because there is no excise tax there.

Yes, below. I also always take oil in duty.

I left Greece 3 days ago. They shook the whole suitcase. They took away a liter of olive oil and 3 small bottles (200g) of local vodka. They gave me only 1 liter of cognac. I'm just horrified! After positive impressions in Greece, everything was ruined at the border.
