we rested in Malia at the Golden Bay Hotel Apartments 4 * - a family hotel, but there is no beach of our own. in Greece you can visit any beach in fact. they seem to be all city considered. at least we were not driven from anywhere.
a friend was at the Cretan Malia Park 5 * hotel - more expensive of course, but the hotel is worth it! clean, beautiful, great sandy beach.

I don’t advise with a child and you need to understand that you will have to go to the beach .... and you really don’t want to be on the beach there
