1. I had a license for 10 years, but with the madhouse in medicine that is now in Russia, I can’t change it for new ones (you need to get a medical certificate first: there are more doctors for women, who don’t know).
2. Even if I have a license, I DO NOT WANT TO REST AT THE DRIVE. For me, rest is when I can relax. I don’t see well, I don’t want to drive a car on the unfamiliar mountain roads of Crete (I’m used to driving on the plain)
3. If the company's interests converge, there is someone to share impressions with, and new ideas may arise: after all, people are different, they know different things or want to see. Something you can learn just from a fellow traveler
4. There are people who simply psychologically need a company: it gives them strength and confidence. I don’t know about you, but the “navigators” helped me drive the car. And when several people who know how to drive are in a car, you can change places, and not "load work" on one.
So the company is not needed if you are traveling with friends or a couple.

But already at home, after looking at the bus routes, I realized that nothing would work out: the bus was once a day, from Stalis, at 8 in the morning. I left my driving license at home so that my fellow traveler would exploit me less. They lived in Ammoudara (Herakleon). Then I tried to find some kind of driver in Crete, I was ready to pay to get to such inaccessible places, but it didn’t work out (the same applies to the mountain monasteries of the Byzantine era, even the natives often don’t know about them and haven’t seen them, they are closed, people nearby don’t live).
