Please advise the beach and the hotel in Goa. I would like a clean and beautiful beach, good infrastructure. The hotel is not very expensive, but decent in quality 3 *, 4 *
I read and watched a lot of videos about Goa. While looking after Mandrem, the Riva beach resort hotel, but I can’t finally decide. I would be grateful for help in choosing a beach, a hotel.

I would like the beach to be not very noisy, but not wilderness either. There is no difference south or north, I consider everything. I still really need advice on buying a tour, we plan to fly at the end of February. When is it more profitable to book now or before departure? do you have goa? I only found join up and TPG, both not very reliable. Has anyone bought a tour from TPG?

One of the best beaches in GOA is Cavelossim. It is very wide, there are no annoying locals and cars do not stick. This is South Goa. And the hotels there are mediocre everywhere. Good Dorna Silva resort.

I like the South more in GOA, we have been going for two years in a row. The beaches at the hotels are not their own, and as a rule, they are half empty (although we go in November-December), but there have never been many people. Hotels are located at a decent distance from each other and some are closer to the ocean, and some are further away. I always look for a decent clean green hotel (newer, because the rainy seasons make themselves felt and in old hotels and mold can be a lot - this is from the stories of vacationers, we ourselves did not get into such hotels). You need to take breakfast, because the food in the necks is very tasty and varied. We rested and recommend Coconut grove - breakfasts are so-so, but the hotel is small, very cozy, green and with normal conditions (I didn’t see mold, close to the ocean). Nanu resort 3 is also normal. Both hotels are located next to Colva where you can buy fruit and so on. If you have not been to India before, then get ready for the fact that this is not Turkey and Egypt. This is a different country with a different service, life and a slight shock for anyone.

I’m also considering Nanu. I haven’t been to India. The more I read, the more I’m at a loss. Breakfast is important, you need to feed your husband and son.

And at the expense of TO- I first decide on the hotel, I read, I look, I study. I choose several (2-3), then I look at the prices for the period I need and then I go to the agency through which I arrange package tours. And in the agency, we are already looking at which TO offers the selected hotels and at what price, what are the departures, etc. It's hard to say when it's better to buy. Last year I monitored it, it was also interesting, but if in Sri Lanka there were prices for 2 about 900 dollars for a hotel of average scall at different periods of time, then in GOA I have not seen such price drops. I buy it myself when I have already decided on a vacation and dates, and it is important for me to know that everything is bought. This year we fly again on November 18th. And so far the price has only increased but 200 ye from the moment of booking. We'll see what's closer to takeoff.

moy_contakt Are you flying from TO or by yourself?

Don’t worry about food, go to the shake and there the choice of seafood is just class! Freshly caught crabs, various fish, shrimps are brought from the night catch. Everything is cheap and the freshest. They make excellent soups, rice. I am delighted with their cooking, even despite the outwardly unattractive conditions (here I had a slight shock at first, which quickly passed). Neither my husband nor my children had any poisoning. So if you didn’t have enough food for breakfast, feel free to catch up in the neck!

I have decided on the dates, I can book. But with our MOT it’s scary so early. Yes, TPG has good prices, but somehow I don’t know him at all
аватар moy_contakt
We also had experience of independent travel (without maintenance). Before I buy anything, I monitor, I try to catch cheaper tickets. If nothing goes right with the tickets, then I look at the MOT offers. But again, I have never used the agency's offer for their hotels (this applies to all countries). I myself manage the process, as only I know what I want from the rest. On this site I look at the approximate order of numbers for the selected hotel and period, and with this information I go to the agency. There, a girl I know (I have been cooperating with her for 5 years already) voices to me the available offers from all MOTs and then we already choose from whom we book. There are also other criteria for choosing TO - the procedure for terminating the contract (everything happens in life), the time of departure and arrival, the price and, of course, the reputation of the seller.
аватар Meltoma
We ourselves are definitely not ready yet. I looked at Coconut, it’s a good hotel, but it’s a bit expensive for us for 3 adults. Nanu suits us better for the price, is it much worse?
аватар moy_contakt
TPG - The operator has been on the market for a long time, but as you rightly said, there is still a lot of time and anything can happen. Therefore, the down payment is paid, and the remaining part is immediately paid by the date H in accordance with the terms of the contract. Also read the conditions of booking and cancellation in the contract. This year, when booking a family vacation (4 months before the trip), I chose between two operators - Anex had a 100% fine, Pegasus is expected to receive a refund in accordance with the date of cancellation of the tour, but the difference in price - Anex was almost 400 dollars are cheaper ..... I chose Pegasus. We have a large family - 2 adults + 3 children and did not want to take risks.

I fully support and agree with my _contakt about NANU and COCONUT hotels.
аватар Meltoma
Thanks for the advice. Somehow, we probably didn’t take contracts seriously. We have a distribution, I choose a hotel from TO, my husband goes to the agency and signs everything.
аватар moy_contakt
Nanu has its pluses - it is closer to Colva (to go for fruit, and we went there every day for a walk, and just climb to see). Both breakfasts are average scall. Both hotels are close to the ocean. Living conditions are normal here and there. There are several types of rooms in Nanu, and in Coconut accommodation is either for 2 or 2 + 1, there are no other options, no matter what they say. I liked Coconut a little more, a more comfortable hotel. So, no significant difference.
аватар Meltoma
At the moment, I looked, Nanu is cheaper by more than $ 300. We get 3 adults (son 15), How can they accommodate us? Do they have extra beds? I read that in many hotels they just throw the mattress, I would not want to live like that.
аватар moy_contakt
In a cocoon (it was our first trip to India), we were generally first settled in a room with two single beds for 2 adults + a son of 8 years old .... but I resolved this issue within an hour, they have the option of a large double bed + one and a half. A room for three will do. And there are definitely no large rooms with a large number of beds in the cocoon. Vacationers were either 2 or +1 child. As for Nanu, there are accommodation options for cottages and villas. We traveled as part of 2 + 1 children and lived in a double bed + extra bed for our son, but there were also families with a large composition. And we realized from conversations with them that they have a room on 2 floors. I read about a mattress thrown on the floor, but I have not come across such a thing. I think that when booking, you just need to further focus on this, but in the hotels described, everyone slept on beds :)
аватар moy_contakt
How important it is, it is very important for me where I will sleep, on which bed, in which shower-bath I will wash, the presence of air conditioning, the location of the hotel itself, cleanliness - these are the selection criteria by which I choose a hotel for relaxation. I always make adjustments for country and climate. Last year, an aged couple rested in a hotel somewhere behind ours, but they ate in the same neck as we did and lived on neighboring sunbeds. So their room was all black from mold. Black pillows under pillowcases, a terrible bathroom with broken plumbing (I don’t remember the name of the hotel, it went like 1 *). They took the tour for almost a month and paid for everything 1800 dollars ... without food at all. There was no shock for them, they lay on sunbeds all day and from their words, they absolutely do not care what and how in the room, the main price and the ocean. And there are such hotels there, and I certainly would not want to get into such a hotel.
аватар Meltoma
Oh no, I'm definitely not going to 1 *! And so I'm already set for a slight shock.

Relax in the hotel and on the beach from the hotel ... do not tell. This is not Egypt and Turkey, and remotely does not look like them. You have to go to Goa every day. discover 2-3-5 km by scooter. We lived in a 2 * hotel, picked up at Bookin dot com. Everything corresponds to the description of the Canadians and Amers and were very pleased with the rest. You just need to prepare for this, you don’t like annoying Indians and cows - don’t go to Goa. They are everywhere, and if you don’t put a frame on me, you’re a white monkey, you’ll get a great rest. They, unlike us "medium-transversal" communicate in several languages and skip the queues in the store.
аватар Meltoma
And I didn’t think to make you laugh ushenina! To each his own, well, I don’t ride a scooter, so what? And it’s up to me to decide whether to go or not. No one set any limits, I like Indians, I adore cows. Tell us better which beaches you liked.
аватар moy_contakt
Ride every day, personally I'm not ready. For me, in any vacation there should be a relaxation part, and without it there is nothing. And a scooter, with Indian traffic on the roads, is definitely not for our family, for these purposes, that there is no way to see using the services of a tuk-tuk, a car is hired. But this is for everyone. You are interested only on a scooter, and I'm going for local flavor, seafood, sand like starch, warm ocean and a 50/50 excursion with relaxation. And I’m not going to live in a barn. I don’t need a palace, but comfort is important. In addition to all of the above, we usually take older children with us (at least one), this also makes its own adjustments to the rest.
аватар ushenina
Tell us what kind of beaches you liked.
The beaches are excellent - they are not fenced as such, you go to a cafe along the beach, you went in and ordered, you already have the right to take a trestle bed until the evening :), we didn’t like it, we go to another cafe. Speaking of sand, I don’t know about starch, but it is so dense that as a wave of chenez departs for 15 seconds, a car can safely drive on it, only traces of the tread are visible - unusual sand. There are a lot of living creatures in the water, but it is muddy and nothing is visible :)
Prices I write only my impressions:
At tourist hotels, they are a lot / a little overpriced if you drive off for 1-2 km, then pineapples for a dollar or less + bananas and a lot of exotics, usually half a fruit stall, half vegetables (potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes - the whole borscht set :))
For shrimp (Jumbo) it is even larger than our small crayfish, which are royal in size; per kilogram, I really regret that they didn’t buy crabs from us, they cost crazy money in general.
аватар ushenina
It was a little wild when we were surrounded by beggars, they took them into 3 rings, but then the traders themselves drove them away, sensing profit from our location. With the shrimp they bought, they came to a cafe and ordered them to be cooked - yes, yes, this is India - we live simply. They took hand sanitizer sprays and Ratror from the network with them to mow down all the evening animals in the room and, of course, their bed linen.

Be sure to panama or a hat but a head. Light pants and a T-shirt and sunbathe in the shade under a sun lounger, otherwise there is a chance of burning out in 20 minutes.

Thanks for the recommendations. I would like to hear the names of the beaches that you liked. If it is more or less clear with the south, then not very much with the north.
аватар AliceToto
Very nice Varka beach - in the south of GOA. The beach is very long, full of shakes, few people, clean, no cows and dirt. There prices in necks are higher than in the North of GOA (in 2013 the difference was about 1.5-2 times depending on the neck), but in the North of GOA the beaches are very dirty and crowded with people. Cavelossim beach (also in the South) is praised. there is a large village nearby, many shops and you can wander around. I can’t tell you about a good 3.4 * hotel, in our 3 * (Varca Le Palms beach resort) there was mold, dirty torn towels and the bed was also unsightly, although the breakfasts were normal, because. in many 3 * give only one sandwich and a cup of tea.
In general, you should go to GOA in 3 * only if you want to save money, because. for me, the presence of a clean bed and towels is the main requirement for comfort - and with that there is tension.
аватар Meltoma
And in the north, which beaches are clean? Maybe someone will tell you not bad hotels. According to the reviews, I liked Morzhim.
аватар Oleksii64
Charleston 3*. Calangute, first line (a rarity for Goa), Combination of a beach holiday such as Turkey - Egypt (there are few locals, if they appear on the beach - the lifeguard kicks them out, part of the hotel territory with sunbeds) with Indian flavor. Within a radius of a kilometer is the center of Calangute and Baga.
But something is not visible at TO, it's a pity ...

It is normal to work with TPG, not in all countries, but I would trust them with my vacation.
TPG highlight: they have a direct charter to GOA this season.
Riva Beach is an excellent choice compared to other hotels in Goa.
