Who has been to this hotel recently? Respond, share your impressions!
Dear fellow travelers! Who was in this hotel this year, respond. I read a lot of information, but very scarce reviews about this hotel. Here I sit in thought, maybe they slipped me a "shitty" hotel, at a price of $ 4,700 for two, so I don’t want to be disappointed!

Be kind enough to indicate at least its name))).
Negombo is a small town. There are many hotels there. Well, like hotels... some don't have plain hot water. From "tolerable" to "just a nightmare" But I'll tell you the place is not a resort. The coast is dirty (the entire coastline in Sri is municipal, but it is especially dirty here). The local population is accustomed to throwing garbage right under their feet, or better right into the ocean. Negombo is a fishing town. Stay there for a day or two. The sea is stormy, the smell of rotten fish is all around. And you will swim between the fishermen sitting on the poles ....
To the South you need... to the south of the island. And then all the impressions of this beautiful country will completely spoil you

Yep.. found your duplicate below. We are talking about the Dolphin, as I understand it. The hotel is nothing remarkable, but as for Sri Lanka, it will do! But he's not in Negombo. He is 15 kilometers away. The beach is better. But anyway, go to Bendotta, Unawatana, Tangalle. In the Negombo region, up to Marawila itself, to the north, it is stormy for almost the entire year. Not the fact that you can swim. And the sand here is black and red. And the landscapes are far from "postcard". Don't even think about "alya Maldives". The only plus is close to attractions (triangle)

Thanks for the answer, at least I figured it out a little, but alas, it’s too late, the idiot has already bought a ticket, but next time I’ll be a little smarter, I’ll have to relax and enjoy what I got, I was glad that it was close to the sights. So let's travel!

In May, the hotel was reconstructed, so the "fears" and "contempt" of connoisseurs are exaggerated!
Have a nice rest, Allah!

Lanka, I understand that everyone praises his swamp. . . But since by "expert" you mean me, and you hint with quotation marks that I am not competent in these matters, then deign to tell me about Negombo and his "images" to the end. Tell us that it is in this town that homosexual pedophilia flourishes most. Tell us about the fact that you can buy boys aged 10-14 there "for cheap". Tell us that this is why pedophiles from North America, China and Australia flock to Negombo in droves. And that the government is trying in vain to put things in order there. And you are well aware of this and of course heard and even tried to deny this fact. I know this because some circumstances forced me to change my place of residence, priorities in life, and with them nicknames on the forums, including this one. And you know me well. . . No, not for life. . . namely, to support tourists in the branch in Sri Lanka. True, that was a few years ago. . . . But your "bias" to an unfamiliar nickname did not allow me to remain silent. . . Although I love Sri Lanka no less than you.

Dear TOUREXPERT!
I did not know that we knew each other, even if it was virtually. I will leave your ability to collect "spicy" information without comment - maybe I'm soaring above the bustle for sympathy for Lanochka and the colors of Negombo, but for all the time I have not heard about what you follow so closely. It's not my style to be cunning, but none of the tourists who lived in Negombo had such information.
As I have never seen "fishermen on poles" in negombo. They are just in the south, in Tangalle and Weligama, in this way they catch fish.
Yes, and in the album, to which I gave a footnote, frames without photoshop - I simply do not use this program.
As for "clean / dirty", you can find rubbish everywhere - and publicly say "Fi!" ...
However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own point of view. At the same time, it would be good not to forget that different things can be said anonymously. And to answer for their judgments and to argue the opinion is still accepted openly.
Do not embarrass Alla - she seems to be utterly frightened by your "revelations" :-)

We rested in Negombo for several days, and the town - supposedly dirty-fisherman)) - fascinated us. It is colorful, lively, bright - in my opinion, this is the most interesting thing! Resting in a town where there is nothing but a hotel is not for us, so we deliberately chose Negombo, despite the reviews about its supposedly "dirty")) The beach near our hotel was great! although there really was rubbish nearby, but, apparently, because there was no hotel there)) And everything else is nonsense! I keep quiet about pedophilia, I don’t follow such things! Negombo is a colorful town with a lot of life, places to go for a walk, eat, shop, excellent temples, a fish market, etc. etc. Nice place so have a great holiday!

Thank you so much for the feedback, it's quite difficult to scare me or confuse me with some "spicy" information. Sri Lankan fishermen are even interesting, I like to fish myself, but in general I create an impression of the countries where I visit based on studying the culture, history of the country and people. So, I think it will be very interesting for us, I have planned a whole program of excursions, I don’t really like to sit still. I don’t expect “aerobatics” from the hotel, it’s just not very pleasant when the rooms are dirty and ruined, unfortunately, I have such experience from my last visit to Egypt and the hotel was 5 stars. Thank you Lanochka I will definitely go to the recommended links now

God, good evening! It's great that you are creative - this is the key to a successful trip.
About the hotel: there should be no dirt and devastation in the "Dolphin Club". The weather is a matter of chance. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you :)
My nickname, by the way, turned out to be a diminutive of Sri Lanka (that's how I call the island "at home").
If you are interested in "going to the people", one day (early, before dawn, at about 5.00) go to the "fish exchange" at the bridge over the lagoon - there the fishermen unload their catch - both from the ocean and from the lagoon. A great chance to see what is found in Sri Lankan waters: from small fish ("go baby") to giant hammerhead fish from the family of sailboats (swordfish from the same place).

Lanochka, thank you for your attention, I looked at your notes, photographs and is already in absentia in love with this magical country, so that I think nothing will scare me, neither devastation nor the weather. I want to go there! I want to meet the dawn on the shores of the Indian Ocean! They say the dawn there is unforgettable and that in these moments a person finds complete harmony with the world and with himself!

Alla, soon you will be able to see for yourself that neither I nor Kiki_Morroy, who answered your question, shared sincere sympathy for the island, which was not accidentally called the gate to paradise. If, of course, a little rise above the fuss :)
аватар Tanunik
Sri Lanka is really a beautiful country and the people there are very sincere and kind. I don’t know about the dawn ... we met it in the east of the country, where the sun really rises from the ocean, but in the west there are stunning sunsets (which is no worse for harmony with oneself). Have a good rest, go with a positive mood and you will definitely like everything.
