Do you fly?
Good time of the day! We have such a question - is it worth flying to Sri Lanka? We are planning for the end of March. Is the ocean clean there and is it not boring? How are the prices for food - fruits, seafood?
Which resort is better to choose, where the water is cleaner and not boring?
In short, tell who that can. Thanks to all!!!

Counter question: what do you expect from the rest?
Natural beauty is one of the most striking in South Asia,
landscapes change every 3-4 hours...
Antiquities, preserved in a decent form, are enough not only for the island - for half the mainland.
A country whose written history spans 2,500 years.
Dozens of books and articles have been written about Sri Lanka, Marco Polo said about this land: "This is perhaps the most beautiful island of its size in the world"...

Definitely fly. We were in Bentota in December for the first time. It's just heaven. The hotel is quiet and calm, the nature is super, and the ocean is simply beyond words. Fruits are not expensive, and seafood is not very cheap. I will definitely return there!

Fly! Just returned from Sri Lanka, from Koggala. I don’t know if it’s worth overpaying for 5k, everything suited me in 3k. There is such an ocean and nature - that simply cannot be expressed in words. The flight is long, but well tolerated. We got to eat: 2 pieces of shark (reef) or barracuda or squid, french fries, vegetable salad - $ 6, a large portion, often took one soup for two and one such portion with fish. soup $2. Beer $ 1.5 but it is tasty and a bottle of 0.625 liters. shrimp are prepared as beachboys - $ 6 per kg - these are tiger shrimp, about 40 pieces per kg. huge djangos - $15 kg, there are only 3 of them. We didn’t buy any fruit - we didn’t like anything like that. the hotel always had watermelons, pineapples, papaya, bananas. tried jackfruit and sauasep - bullshit.
The road took us more than a day (delays), but when we saw the ocean, the dream was taken away, we went to bed only in the evening.
As if there was nothing to do in the evening, but we met two couples, and at radically different ages, we spent all the time together.
We went to Kandy for an excursion + waterfalls + tea plantation. I didn’t really like it, it was very long (22 hours), well, very tiring.
If you do not expect that all the staff will dance above you, as in Egypt and Turkey, feel free to go.
