Do not worry, the products there are much cheaper than ours, alcohol is a little cheaper, but very high quality.

Do you only eat breakfast!!?? We spent about $40 a day for lunch and dinner in a cafe!

depending on what kind of food you like. lunch with shrimp and dinner with lobster will be at the level or slightly more expensive than any business lunch in a Ukrainian cafe, so you won’t go hungry. those who spent $40 a day on lunch and dinner are crazy. take AI in Sri Lanka is not worth it!

Don't even take breakfast. There is no point. Forgive me anyway, but around the corner everything is cheaper and at any time.

I wrote my review with prices - read it, I think it will be useful. Although many write that it is expensive. 40 share a day for two - that's right. I don’t know where osek69 around the corner saw cheaper, probably if you eat buns with milk. Depending on which hotel to choose, sometimes there is nothing nearby. Lobster - one costs 1000 rupees + beer or rum. And you won’t be full of one lobster a day. They don’t know how to cook mso and everything is spicy. And if not spicy, then tasteless. You have to get used to their food. There are no sausages or sausages.

1300 rupees = $10. in restaurants on the coast, this is a large portion of shrimp with rice or french fries and garnish and at least a couple of beers. those. yes - $40 for two is lunch and dinner. but the wife could seldom eat that much, so we usually spent less. I liked the breakfast at the hotel. sometimes I wanted European food. in general, from our point of view, the ideal scheme is breakfast at the hotel, the rest - in the hotel restaurant or in coastal pubs

Thank you very much for your advice)))) But my husband wants everything to be all-inclusive (well, like in Egypt, but as for me: only breakfast + dinner is enough there. What do you think is the best thing to do?

If you take AL, then you will regret it very much later, because in hotels they almost don’t give sea food, and their food is really, well, not very edible or spicy or hard or bland. For example, I ate only potatoes, since I only tried everything else and left it on a plate, but in a cafe you can order what you want and eat everything

It all depends on whether you drink beer and other alcohol. If not, then HB is enough, if you drink - definitely Al. Everything in the hotel is very expensive. In the cafes on the shore, not everything is sold. One liquor store per city and you have to go there. Supermarkets don't even have beer. The food at the hotel is at least good and you can choose something, and cafes offer such a menu that after two or three days there is nothing to eat. And it's true that one meal is 20-25 USD.

What city are you going to?

In Hikkaduwa everything is close. And further along the coast of Gale, there really are hotels ....... Oppa also came out)))) some gardens and nothing. But about buns. One lunch for three costs from 2500 to 4000 rupees.

You did not say what "your money" is. We took breakfast + dinner and we had enough for $ 300 for everything - for dinners, for beer (lots of beer), rum, bus rides, one big excursion and souvenirs. Read reviews. Go to Hikkaduwa - it's full of cafes and at least 2 liquor stores.

A couple rested with us, who simply won the ticket. They paid extra for all inclusive. We saw them off on the last day and all together calculated whether it was profitable to pay extra. It turned out that they spent $40 more than they paid extra for Al. This despite the fact that they had a BB (breakfast).

We were in Benot last winter and the prices are not very low. We took HB, and for lunch we went to cafes on the beach and we got about 50 dollars (large shrimp, side dishes, salad and beer for my husband) So don’t listen to fairy tales about cheapness! did not go every day, sometimes HB was enough

We were in Ahangamma. Village in the south of the island. Yes, the food is really expensive. In addition, various pancakes and cheesecakes bought outside the hotel are generally impossible to eat. Everything in my mouth is on fire. Ate a couple of times shrimp and other marine reptiles. But this is not food for a Ukrainian peasant, and a Russian one, too. Therefore, knowing in advance where we were going, we took a couple of sticks of our smoked sausage and brisket from home, a bottle of vodka and cognac for my brother and .... the rest was a success;)). Bought in the store only their yogurt and fruit. There was an electric kettle in the room. Constantly we were given free bottles of water, tea, coffee, sugar and dry cream in the morning. We only had breakfast in the price of the tour. The breakfasts were so plentiful and tasty that we almost combined lunches with dinners. Unless they drank only yogurt with cookies or tea at night.

Rest in Hikkaduwa. The hotel had breakfast and dinner, dined outside the hotel - cafes, pizzerias. Everything is very delicious. Pepper is fine. soup-puree $2, fish with salad and french fries $8, lobster with vegetables $40.
