This question has already been discussed here many times. the fact is that you are unlikely to save a lot of money by train + car. you will have to pay for transit visas, and even about how much time and effort it will take to travel, then in general there is no need to talk about savings.
In addition, flights to Montenegro are mostly charter flights, i.e. they are not at all expensive, but tour operators buy them, so it is unlikely that you will be able to buy them yourself.
I flew to Montenegro, then I read the discussions of this issue here and once again I was convinced that I did the right thing, therefore I recommend air to you.

I also flew, in principle, I’m satisfied, for a couple of hours and already there! But I compared the prices and said that the bus is much better, cheaper + you can see a couple of countries! so it’s up to you to decide what you like best) next time I would go by bus, because I like to travel very much. I’m very interested in visiting a couple more countries, albeit passing through))

dare not agree! I took the bus! from ukraine you need to go through romania (eu) and serbia. A Romanian visa is issued for a group and costs a penny ... although you can stand at the Romanian border for a long time .. Serbs simply slap a stamp in their passport and that's it. True, it's a long ride. From Ukraine about 30 hours (we had a bus, to put it mildly, "not very")

what do you disagree with? It's not entirely clear from your answer what you're leaning towards.

It is very convenient to fly by plane - there is no feeling of fatigue from moving and worries (almost:). A bus tour is beneficial if you want to save money and like long journeys. Otherwise, it’s a long journey at night too (maybe tired from the road, though the rest compensates for everything later), while part of the road goes through canyons and mountains - on the one hand it’s very beautiful, on the other hand - a little adrenaline! :)

We went to Montenegro by bus through Hungary and Serbia. The journey takes 30-32 hours, depending on the downtime at the borders. I am satisfied with the bus trip, I saw 2 countries. Serbia is a very beautiful country in terms of nature. You drive through beautiful mountains, enter mountain tunnels. In general, a lot of impressions. When you fly in an airplane, you don't see that. Once you can go by bus, and then fly! Have a good travel!

If it is at night and through the canyons, but the same as Montenegrin ones, then there is NOT a little adrenaline there :)) I just went on an excursion to Lovcen and Cetinje - this is in the mountains of Montenegro, we went there by bus .... when the bus passed back down the narrow road , which is not even protected by any parapet (although it will not help either) from a cliff of hundreds of meters .... I thought I would get a heart break and my palms were wet ....
Is it possible to see "a couple of countries" while traveling by bus and even at night? :) .... roadsides and that's it :) ... in any country they are the same.

We drove through Hungary in the evening, and at 6 in the morning we stopped in Serbia, and you can see a lot in a day. We stopped for lunch at a Serbian restaurant. When the bus travels along a mountain serpentine, it is forbidden to walk around the cabin.
Roadsides are different for every country. I recently returned from a bus tour of Europe. The roadsides of Serbia are much more picturesque!

I completely agree with the last answer by aquarel :)) There is a lot of adrenaline - we went on a tour of national parks and canyons, it’s good that holy places help along the way (just kidding! :), and the guys talked about the road to Ostrog! :) In the bus the plus is that you can save 50 euros on canyon excursions - you will eat them for free! :) ride, the attendant was good, but very tired. So decide for yourself in terms of finances, tolerance for long journeys and thrills, and you will get visual pleasure.

Traveled by bus. I didn't notice any adrenaline rush. It was interesting. because for the first time I passed through Romania and Serbia. The road is tiring, if there is an opportunity not to save, it is better to fly. The difference when buying between the bus and the plane was 130 euros. For me, this is a significant amount to suffer inconvenience.

Buying tickets for a charter is not so difficult, you just need to buy it from a tour operator (charter organizer). Tickets for a charter Kyiv - Tivat - Kyiv we bought at http://www.siesta.kiev.ua/ 250 euros for 1 person. both ends.
The question of flying or driving is up to you. Compare the cost and the time spent on the road (fly 2 hours, passport control took 10 minutes, and then because of the queue of our own tourists) and decide what is preferable for you. Taxi Tivat - Budva 20 euros, Budva - Tivat 15 euros.
We flew during the day and impressions of the country began on the plane. We flew over the mountains where there was still snow, saw the Canyon of the Tara River (where we later went on our own in a rented car), islands in the sea and blue-turquoise water ...
Have a nice holiday.
