Excursion to Albania
If someone traveled from Montenegro on an excursion to Albania this year, tell me, is it true that you need to leave your passport at the border? And in general, is it an interesting excursion?

we went on our own (rented), but with two guards. Passports at the border glanced at the border and that's it. one of our guards was an Alabani who was thinking something on his own with the border guards.
in general, it’s better not to go to Albania, they survived there for one day. it feels like in the Cherkizovsky market before it closes. Skadar Lake on their side is polluted. roads killed, around dirt. people have wolf eyes. very unpleasant sensation after light Montenegro.

Thank you very much, so I won't go)

Better, in Dubrovnik (Croatia) ))))

Do not need! Tirana is a village and what a horror of dirt! If you are a girl, it is better not to interfere, Albanians kidnapping is a national business! And then, with an Albanian visa in the passport, then they may not be allowed into any decent European country!

I would love to go to Dubrovnik, but Belarusians need a visa there, so it won’t work (But I realized about Albania - it’s better not to meddle)

And I read that I liked Albania, but they also wrote that there was a feeling that they had returned to the Soviet of Deputies. They probably had nostalgia for the Soviets :)

From the point of view of history, it is probably interesting there, but it seems very dumb))

We traveled to Albania through a tour desk. The cost of the tour was 60 euros. Passports were not taken. Nature is beautiful, but the country itself is miserable, impoverished. A crowd of poor children ran after us and begged. It’s a pity for them, I returned from this excursion devastated and my opinion is that it’s better not to go there. I would rather go rafting!

Thanks a lot for your reply and recommendation.

And I have the STRONGEST impressions from Albania. Montenegro is the standard, everything is the same everywhere, but in Albania, as if in Kusturica's films. We traveled in a group from Budva, all the problems at the border were solved by our translator, quickly and without money.
Be sure to go when you are still in this country, only North Korea has remained like this, but you will not penetrate there.

Thank you for your opinion. But I've already been so scared here that I probably still won't risk it.

There are so many wonderful places in Montenegro that I was able to explore and see everything in just two months.
If possible, then you need to take a car for a week and go! roads are normal. people are even better!
If not, then a taxi and only through the phone. Cheaper, better quality than private sellers.
I recommend: Petrovac (So small, homely and the beaches are good), Cetinje (it's in the mountains, the old capital), Milocer (it's cool to go through a pine forest and BAM ... on a sandy beach!)

Thank you. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take the car, but we are going to travel to the maximum. Cetinje and Milocer are in our personal program. And a lot of places, if only I could do everything in 10 days)

It's so interesting to read reviews left 15 years ago. I am currently in Albania. Nobody took away the passport, the previous reviews do not correspond to reality. A lot of expensive cars, cool bars, restaurants, beautiful nature.
