Can you please tell me if it is possible to take groceries "from home" in order to save money
Is this allowed by customs?

so possible. But you will save only on tea, coffee, alcohol, ie. - drinks. They are simply more expensive there than in our country - from 1 euro. But meat - fish, I'm silent about salads, soups, etc. - cheaper, so - draw conclusions. Alcohol can carry a liter per person. By the way, local wine is cheap there.

thanks for the answer. Have you been there for a long time? I want to calculate the budget so that it is enough for everything: food, entertainment. Do not tell me the prices for excursions, or maybe you will advise something. Our children are 12 and 17 years old.

I was there 2 years ago. Prices are quite low if you dine in local restaurants. The kitchen is very reminiscent of Slavic - first, second and compote :) you can count on 10 euros per person per day - this is if you agree with the owner about 3 meals a day - you will come and you will already have a table set with a normal lunch. Resort attributes, such as ice cream, water - quite expensive compared to lunch - from 1 euro. Sun loungers and umbrellas on the beaches are paid, but you can sunbathe on your own.

Excursions - go with children to Bokko-Kotorskaya inlet, you can take a walk in Budva in the Budva Fortress. I did not like fishing boat trips and folklore excursions - very expensive and not interesting.

you can of course - take a suitcase of biscuit cookies and tea with you - it will turn out very economical :))))) (we were joking like that)
But really not worth it - Hungarian cuisine with their parprika is one of my favorites :)
It's not expensive, definitely worth a try :)

Good afternoon!
I recommend taking alcohol at the airport (in Dyte Free). If you are planning a vacation without food at the hotel, then in stores the prices are the same as ours and there is no particular need to bring something with you. There are enough shops, a large assortment. On the beach (in Budva) there are complex lunches for 5 Euros, but not everywhere!

I also advise you to eat complex lunches in the restaurant during the day. Not far from the bazaar (Budva), we found three options, prices 6, 7.8 euros. First, second, third choice. And for dinner, buy ready-made meat products in the meat departments, there are about 10 options: langets, chops, etc., they are immediately fried in front of you by workers. At home you enjoy + vegetables + delicious bread. Everything is cheap!

Good morning!
Of course, there are already plenty of tips, but I want to once again give you some advice because you have children and you need to plan a budget! Almost all beaches are paid (5 euros per person). For this money, they provide a sunbed and an umbrella, as well as a shower. As for the comments about the fact that you can relax on a free beach, I’ll tell you that there are large pebbles, everything is dirty, a lot of people and the worst parts of the beach near the sea. Come, try, compare. As for excursions, I recommend that you rent a car for your family (60 euros per day), this will allow you to save a lot of money. I can recommend excursions to Croatia (Dubrovnik 150 km from Budva), along the same road the Bay of Kotor, Herceg Novi, Perast. In one day you can see everything and not in a hurry. It is better to take the car for 3 days to see everything and without tension!

oh, I'm sorry, I even messed up in my previous comment - I wrote about Hungary :)))))
Excuse me, please :)
but about Montenegro in principle, I also see no reason to save. to take groceries with you.
Do you have a catering hotel? (4 * should be with breakfast and dinner) ... when we rested we were all adults and often if we ate at the hotel (breakfast + dinner) it was VERY enough because the portions are large and the food is varied (in the evening) and in the morning buffet. And if we dined in cafes / restaurants, then .... I had to skip dinner :) Again, because the portions are very large ... I will never forget how we ordered half a portion of the specialty in the Chicken Cafe (this is assorted meat) it turned out that they were with meat they bring salad and potatoes (this is included) .... in general, we thought we would burst there! and it was half a serving :)
I wish you a good holiday :)

thank. no, we don't have food, that's why I'm puzzled!

Hello everyone. When I first went without food, I was also very worried about my family, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Firstly, it all depends on where you are going, how you were introduced to the country, that is, what it breathes. As for Montenegro, you can buy everything there , prices are the same as ours, i.e. Crimea or any resort town. You can safely go to a cafe, just look at the weight of the dishes, they are very large there. You can eat from the belly for 10-15 euros for two. there are different zones and different prices for umbrellas with deck chairs, so look for and you will be rewarded, for example, with a big burger that you can eat up. But all this applies to resorts like BECCHECI AND quiet resorts along the coast. a lot of young people

Goodnight! :)
Be sure to take tea with you! They do not have our usual black tea, only herbal ones.
Local fast food is very decent, from 1.5 euros.
The prices are about ours, the quality is better. You won't be hungry, don't worry! :))
But you need to have at least 10 euros per person per day.
It is better to buy water in 5-6 liters, cheaper.
Have a great vacation!

in Montenegro it is very convenient to eat in cafes
The portions are very large, everything is very satisfying and tasty.
and the prices are normal
I don't see the point in bringing groceries with me from home

Nothing can be taken. They lie that it is convenient to eat, because not everywhere there is a cafe. Prices are like in a cafe in Moscow, they are not low! If you live not in the city center, on the outskirts, forget about the cafe. Only what is in the cafe-restaurant of the hotel.
