A few days ago we returned from the "Northern Saga" (Inkomartur). A card in such tours is simply necessary, you can pay with it even in the markets, there are terminals everywhere. They changed quite a bit for travel, etc. Ideally, it is better to have a Visa chip card (at least classic) or MasterCard of any of the normal banks (Privat, Raiffeisen, etc.), but I had a regular non-chip one and had no problems. I paid with the Maestro social card from VTB, and with an unnamed credit card from Delta, they only called me once from Delta, I dropped the call (roaming), no one disconnected anyone.
