Which ferry from Denmark to Germany to choose?
We drive from Copenhagen to Berlin. The road takes 6-7 hours, but we planned the whole day for this road, I want to drive a more picturesque road, or maybe stop somewhere in picturesque places. Google shows two roads. One through the Rødby - Puttgarden ferry, and then Lübeck and Hamburg. The second is through the Gedser - Rostock ferry. Almost the same time. How to choose?

And how did you get to Copenhagen, which way?

Gedser - Rostock. Oh, I reminded you ..... A million years ago there was such a train from Moscow to Berlin. Half of the cars were, in fact, to Berlin, and the rest spread throughout Europe. To Vienna, to Paris, to Prague and to Copenhagen. The car to Copenhagen reached Rostock, drove into the hold of a giant ferry and sailed to Denmark.
Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the picturesque places. I remember only the inhumane rules of transportation. It was impossible to leave the car, and the toilets were closed.

We fly to Copenhagen from Kyiv. And then we go to Berlin by car, and after a couple of days we come back. We will try to go by different roads, but there will be little time on the way there, and on the way back it will be a whole day.
Kolia_oro.egor, if then, as now, the ferry went for about an hour, then you can be patient. I hope they will let them out of the car :-)

I myself became interested, but what if I have to ... I would go to Odense, Kolding, Luebeck, Schwerin (or Rostock). The time will turn out the same - about seven and a half hours from Copenhagen to Berlin, both by land and by water. There are more chances to see something interesting on land. In total, you need to have at least ten hours for everything to work out according to "Feng Shui". Good luck !

So far I have made a preliminary list for the route through Lübeck:
- Erlebnis-Seebrücke Heiligenhafen (200m wooden pier, about half way)
- Flugger Leuchtfeuer (lighthouse, you can climb)
- U Boot Museum Fehmarn (submarine museum is small, but on the way)
- U-Boot Museum U-995 (large submarine museum, 40 km from the path)
- Tauchgondel Grömitz (200m wooden pier and beach town)
- European Hansemuseum (Museum of the Hansa?)
- Holstentor, Lübeck (museum in the center of Lübeck, you can just take a picture outside)
- Lübeck beach (with strange yellow cabanas)

But what if you make a small detour on the way back and ride Roskilde. Still, the capital of primordial, pre-Christian, Viking Denmark. It's good there. Viking Museum. You can wear their clothes. (There is a photo of these clothes in the link to the review.) A cathedral with sarcophagi of all Danish and not only kings and queens. In general, the city is small, but beautiful. And a comfortable walking street.

I understand that you are probably aiming at Elsinore, but for me Roskilde is cooler. Here the taste and color, as they say. I just grew up in Denmark and Riskkilde looks more Danish to me, or something.
