When is the best time to go to Lake Baikal and why?
And are there many more mosquitoes / ticks / some other blood-sucking ones?

It’s always good on Baikal, depending on what kind of vacation you prefer? There are a lot of mosquitoes (this is not enough to say), there are millions of them, but after 18.00-19.00! During the day there are no mosquitoes on the beach, but sometimes flies like "tse-tse" stick, it is easy to get rid of them with a hand movement)))

I won’t fit into 1200 characters, but here is a wonderful article .. what can you expect from a vacation on Lake Baikal literally for months .. http://baykboat.livejournal.com/

I went in June - it was cool, steam came out of my mouth, but the French swam :) I don’t have any memories of insects at all. If you plan to swim, then August is better.
