I've been twice, both savages. In order:
1. Get there: lots of cheap deals, from UIA to Wizzair. It makes sense to rummage through the sites. I personally flew the first time for 99 bucks back and forth with Aerosvit. The second time I flew to Oslo with Wizzom, and from Oslo by train. But this is a separate story, now about specifically Sweden. Bought online, paid by credit card.
2. Visas: There were no problems, but normal hotel reservations, tickets on hand and a stable official income are needed. I prepared the documents myself, nothing complicated.
IMPORTANT! It is obligatory to have a VISA classic bank card (minimum) or MasterCard. VISA Electron does not roll, it is only for settlements on the territory of Ukraine. The card is simply necessary, without it you can’t book a hotel or buy tickets - nothing ... If not, you need to do it first. Well, it is desirable to have money on it))
3. The hotel is definitely a Scandic chain! The best offer in Scandinavia. Lived in these hotels in Sweden, Denmark, Norway - everywhere is great! Cleanliness, service, chic breakfast, a bunch of interesting promotional offers. http://scandichotels.com
4. See Stockholm and Gothenburg, although the whole of Sweden is very beautiful, clean and gingerbread. Malmö is a town on the border with Denmark, nothing too.

Currency - Swedish krona, exactly 1:1 to hryvnia
Absolutely everyone speaks English, some people speak Russian, German, French, Spanish (we checked it on our own experience, as we went with a friend, with whom we more or less know all these languages for two)) )
You definitely need to go in June-July, when it is hot and almost endless northern day. Your face is on fire! But at night it is cool, though light. Maybe +28 during the day and +8 at night.
In Stockholm, watch: the Vasa Museum, Skansen, Lutheran churches, the City Hall and the Nobel Museum. All major attractions are compactly located in the Old City (Gamla Stan)
In general: it's awesome to walk there. The city is not oversaturated with sights, friendly, not hostile to tourists. Prices are high but understandable. After Norway, in general, everything seems cheap)) Shopping is even nothing, H&M rules! If time allows, you can plan a route and stop by Copenhagen or Oslo, but I recommend the first one more.
There will be questions - ask, Scandinavia is generally my "horse"

Eugene111 doesn't even have anything to add.
the main thing is to prepare all the documents correctly and submit them to the embassy.

We did the Sweden-Denmark-Norway rally. Very comfortable for the country - 100% help from the first passerby is guaranteed to you. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that several times we encountered the inability to pay with VISA (at automated gas stations and small shops), only MASTERCARD was accepted (it was saved) and local cards. Incl. I recommend having cards of two payment systems.

I was in Scandinavia twice exactly as a WILD (travel agencies simply beat unmeasured prices!). Especially, they brazenly sell visas to children and pensioners! For the first time due to inexperience In Stokg. took a ticket in Aerosvit. . . because they were tied to clear dates, so they laid out 430-450 dollars. For the second time, Aerosvit's promotional offer played the role of a sudden trip, the price of $150 round trip. Booked on the website 3 months in advance, paid by credit card. By the way, I can’t agree that VISA Electron doesn’t roll, it rolled perfectly both in Sweden and Norway, just a Euro bill. A cash exchange with a large commission, 5-6 euros. From Sweden, on the railway website, we booked a transfer to Oslo, also in advance, it turned out 35 euros back to me with a child. And booking a ferry cruise to Aland is free of charge! I love Scandinavia and these unreal "tricks". Hotels: the Anker 3 * hotel was also nicely booked (on this site it was put as a hostel. .. which is nearby) in Oslo - wonderful, I highly recommend it as an economical, but normal hotel. Travel around Oslo and all the museums are perfectly credited to the acquired Oslo-card, they bought it once and did not deny themselves anything. In Stokg and other cities there are the same cards - be sure to use them.

VISA Electron often fails in Europe. well, the embassy even warned me that I needed a Classic or a mastercard.

If you plan to see the surroundings of Stockholm, be sure to go to Uppsala www.uppsala.to from the central station the train takes 30-40 minutes or the bus, the bus station is right at the station. I would recommend staying in Uppsala rather than in Stockg. to go 2 times to walk around the city. Hotel prices vary greatly. I recommend camping at the water park. Opposite the train station in Stockg. there is an office www.visitstockholm.com/ru/ where you will find all the necessary information. And we agree that any Swede will 100% help you not to get lost. A useful site is www.visitsweden.com/shveciya/. Getting around in Sweden is pretty easy. road. It has become cheaper to get to the Baltics, by the way, you can combine Riga with Stock. A round trip daily ferry can be booked for 30 euros per person, on the website www.tallink.lv, booking a ticket to Riga in the Baltics will cost from 117 euros round trip. Be sure to consider, the earlier you book, the lower the prices. Get customer cards - they significantly reduce the cost of travel services.

It is better to start Sweden from Stockholm, it is beautiful at any time, except for winter (very cold, it gets dark early, there is little illumination).
Flight - ryan air - the cheapest low-cost airline.
What to see: the magnificent museum of music: www.stockholm-info.ru/index.php/museums/musikmuseet.html, everyone knows the Vasa Museum :), the wonderful Tom Tit Museum of Physical Experiments (www.tomtit.se) - good with children and without them.
There is a cool excursion on the roofs of Stockholm, I advise you to take it! Totally safe and awesome views :)

I'll tell you a little too. I had a chance this summer to get by bus from the Scandik hotel. that on the highway - the airport - the center of Stockholm. so here. I had to get to the ROTEBRO station. And then on the train. Trains DID NOT GO (there was no light!!!) We ask - how often does this happen in Stockholm? We got a reply. what is the first time. we began to rush about - WHERE to sit in the direction of the center. The purchased tickets are valid for an hour. And that's it. Few people could clearly explain something. shorter. boarded a bus at your own risk, circled the suburbs for about 40 minutes (quiet pastoral. heavenly suburbs - lovely). we arrived at some terminal station and THERE NOBODY could direct us to the bus (and other transport, except for a taxi, does not go). In short, after a long ordeal, we reached the Sheraton Hotel in half an hour and 415 crowns (UAH 600!!!). which is very close to the Old Town (near the tunnel. that in the direction of the Town Hall near the bridge and boats. It was SOMETHING. And for inexpensive flights - thanks for the information. And another piece of advice - if you are flying with a transfer, then do not buy any alcoholic beverages in Boryspil - they will force you to issue an additional ticket. baggage or pick up. Further on the trail. message.

We flew to Stoke via Tallinn. so a bottle of liquor 0.5 for 12 euros was asked to be issued as an extra. luggage for +40 euros. It's good that they didn't take it. We "persuaded" her in the women's restroom (!!!) And if it was 40 degrees of whiskey? would you have to crawl into the plane on all fours? I'm kidding, of course. but this is ours. which someone might find useful.
аватар 8Agneta8
Sorry. but not whiskeyT, but whiskeyK. And not again, but experience.

What difference does it make what fortress? I Silya line a week ago was driving from St. Petersburg. At our border, my dear mother stocked up in a dutik, both, although it’s impossible, because. We didn’t have 3 days of stay in the EU, but no one checked at the border. Then the ferry, night drinking, Stockholm and back :-)
аватар 8Agneta8
And the difference is big. Because I’ll explain for the dull. We didn’t fly “from” but “to” the European Union.

Please tell me where can I buy a tourist card in Stockholm and how much does it cost?
аватар Soperwow
It is inexpensive and is sold in any "seven-eleven" (Churkov's seven-nineteen in their language) :-)
