Holidays in Afriva in the summer
We are planning next summer to Mahdia at the Rio el Mansour 4 * hotel. I’m interested in what kind of water you can use in a hotel and on excursions, I heard that in Africa you can’t use local water and you can’t even brush your teeth from a tap, is it possible to wash with their water at all, where you can buy good, clean water. I’m also interested in whether there are viral intestinal incurable diseases in Africa, we will go two adults with a 9-year-old daughter. We plan to spend 110-120 thousand rubles from Yekaterinburg for three, we have planned the dates from August 15, maybe someone will advise other countries. We have already been to Crete and Turkey, now we want to see the turquoise sea and white sand. There is an option to go to Koh Samui in Thailand, but they write that it is rainy and expensive there, they also liked the island of Tenerife, but it is also expensive there.

By water - in Turkey and Crete, did you drink from the tap? In Tunisia, the situation is the same with water. Viruses - I won’t say for the whole of Africa, maybe somewhere, say in the Congo, there is something, but in Rio el Mansour 4 * - hardly.
The sand and the sea are not the whitest and turquoise. And in Tenerife, the sand seems to be generally dark? But Thailand is a good option.

Were this year in September in Tunisia. Had intestinal infections and grandson 1.5 years. They called a doctor, they drank antibiotics. And my husband, 60 years old, treated with chloramphenicol, the virus "caught up" with his granddaughter already at home. Other tourists at the hotel were also sick, heard from many and the doctors from the hotel did not "get out". In general, they were not the first in Tunisia, they always liked it, so we went this time too, but the revolutions did not benefit anyone yet, it became much dirtier , without a tip, no one will move (extorted at every turn). But those who were in Tunisia for the first time and there is nothing to compare with, they liked it, because the sand and the sea are wonderful.

We rested in September at the Primaso El Mehdi 4 * hotel - everything was fine, no poisoning, etc. We washed ourselves, brushed our teeth, with water standards. But, of course, I would not recommend drinking water from the tap anywhere !!)

I was in the Canary Islands, I liked everything, but if you need sand, then this is definitely not the place! In Mahdia, the beaches are considered the best in Tunisia, there are really fine white sand and turquoise sea. You can drink tap water in Mahdia, just like in the capital (tested on yourself), but why? Bottled water of all kinds is sold everywhere, there are no problems with it. And no one is safe from intestinal infections in any hotel in the world, I remember very well how a few years ago in an expensive 5-ke in Belek, Turkey, a child in one family was poisoned by something even on the second day of arrival. And in any case, the body reacts to the change of food and water. The water in Tunisia is absolutely non-alkaline and very soft, of course, after ours is unusual. And I agree about the revolution - it does not benefit anyone.

I had a problem in Tunisia with bottled water. When I drink water, I constantly twisted my stomach :( I decided that water just didn’t suit me, so I bought and drank juices or tea. If the water was boiled, then there were no problems ... And everything was ok with food, not even a hint for infections!

I didn’t understand if the sea in Mahdia is stormy or is it always calm

When I rested in September, the sea was stormy for 2-3 days, and the rest of the time everything was calm.
