Questions about Tunisia!?
We are going for the first time, on a budget, in 3 *. I understand there are no refrigerators in the room? Or can they be supplied for a fee? Is it the same with telecom (although it is insignificant)? Tell me, is it worth taking all-inclusive or can you eat cheaply in cafes, what are the prices for modest dinners (for example, in Ssus)? Should I take towels with me or can I buy cheap ones there? As I understand it, you can not take a mask / tube at all!?

better to take all inclusive. lunch will cost 50 dinars (in Sousse), in Hamamet it will be more expensive. Towel costs 10 dinars, all purchases should be done in the old city of Medina!!! , bargain!!!!!, there are towels in hotels.
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
I meant beach towels, bed. But how can I not understand without a refrigerator, some water, fruit, alcohol?
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
As I understand it, if all inclusive, then sunbeds are free?
What local drinks will be included with all inclusive, and how is their quality?
аватар DegusT
I will answer honestly: you can have a normal lunch for a maximum of $ 20 per person ... but keep in mind that the portions are large. Hammamet - no more expensive than Sousse! A towel costs 4-5 dollars - a large beach one, towels in hotels can be washed out, gray in color. If you do not disdain, you can not carry your own ... Refrigerators for extra. There is not always a fee, it depends on the hotel. Fruits can be bought a little bit and completely do without a refrigerator. Does your alcohol turn sour? All inclusive is a mode of food, not comfort. You need to check with the hotel about the add. boards. As a rule, they take money not for sunbeds, but for mattresses ... The quality of local drinks is a divorced chatterbox, but Russians manage to get drunk and burp in the pool !!
аватар Elena-S
Under the budget option, drinks will also be more budgetary :-) Well, to be honest, I liked the local wine, very good (even in three rubles) Still, the former French colony :-)

A refrigerator is needed to cool the drinking water bought in the market, mainly :), if you take HB. And with All, it will probably be possible to take cold water from the hotel refrigerator as much as you need? Warm whiskey (from the Dutik) I don’t know either. (The hotel will most likely be with us HILL DIAR 3 *)
аватар Elena-S
... "to take from the hotel refrigerator how much you need" ...???? What are you talking about now?! At all, all drinks are free (alcoholic, non-alcoholic, cocktails), they are served in restaurants, bars, beach bars, etc. depending on the infrastructure of the hotel, without restrictions. From which hotel refrigerator are you going to take something there ?! They will bring everything to you, don't worry! :-)))
аватар DegusT
Oh, there is a small note about Hill Dear: somehow, for about 5 years, my friends managed to go to this hotel ... there was the lowest price ... something like 300 USD. per person per package. So, no one could have guessed that this is a hotel for vegetarians. During their entire stay there was not a single meat dish, with the exception of "dog sausage". I don't know if things have changed now? But believe me, if from the very first trip you want to forget about Tunisia forever, then this hotel is for you. If you do not want to regret the money spent, look elsewhere.
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
The price is already not frail $ 2500 for three in an All room 11 days departure from Minsk (from Minsk is more expensive than from Moscow and the choice of hotels is less)
Reviews for the hotel are not bad, a familiar travel agent who selects us advised us because people flew from them and were satisfied. We will not stay in hotels all the time.
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
We will be constantly on excursions, meals are included there either on the beach or in the city. A cheaper hotel will do

Tell me how much water costs in the Ssusa market?
аватар DegusT
in a hotel in a restaurant or bar) - 5 dinars a bottle, in front of the hotel in the market - 2 dinars, block: 6 bottles in the market further away - 4.8 dinars. That is, a bottle of water from 0.8 to 5 dinars ... as you find.
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
And the current rate is 1.22 to the dollar right now?
Another question 3-5 Tunisian coins (national currency) can be transported across the border for souvenirs? :)
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
safsaf liter bottles did you mean?
аватар svetlanaball
you can bring paper money, but not much.
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
And what kind of tea is brought from Tunisia and how much?
аватар DegusT
bottles of Marva or Furat are usually 1.5 liters, Garcia soda - 1 liter. Coins can be taken out ... but without fanaticism .. A beautiful 5 dinar coin is two-color, there are 1 and 1/2 dinar, 500 and 100 milim, the rest is a trifle ... There are paper 10 dinar - 3 banknote options. sometimes there is a 5 dinar bill, there are also 20 dinars. Tea is normal in the supermarket: a green pack of 300 (330) milim. But you need to brew in a special way, then delicious.
аватар Elena-S
Tea, I agree, is not for everyone :-) But the spices are excellent and are stored for a long time, without losing their taste, they are sold in sets. Olive oil is very good. Yes, if there is a problem with sunburn, buy (sold only in a pharmacy) a tube of Citolnat basic cream (manufactured in France - THING! By the way, it is also against chapping, and from thermal and chemical burns, etc. In the future, you won't regret it!In general, cosmetic creams, gels, etc., there is a lot of French soap, but the price is excellent and the quality is correspondingly.

safsaf, Elena-S
Thank you very detailed and interesting

Is it true that the import of alcohol into Tunisia is above 25%, only 1 liter?
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
And is the dutik in Monastir good for cigarettes and alcohol? Is it expensive?
Here they write "Sturdy boots will help protect your feet from snake and scorpion bites at excavation sites." Is it possible to stumble upon excursions?
And how is it more profitable to ride a taxi according to the meter or is it better to negotiate?
аватар Elena-S
As for alcohol, it’s true, only with the clarification that you can import 2 liters of drinks with a strength of up to 23% or 1 liter with a strength of more than 23%.
аватар Elena-S
At the expense of duty free in Monastir, as they say, everything is known in comparison. Nevertheless, prices are about the same as everywhere else, take alcohol if you need it on vacation. Keep in mind that, with all wine, cocktails, whiskey, beer in the hotel and so will be available for free (not only Tunisian production, but also French, Spanish, for example). Actually, in Tunisia, alcohol outside the hotel (not sold in all stores, only in the state network General, well, like mini-supermarkets, departments are specially fenced off), after all, a Muslim country. Therefore, if you want some particular alcohol, it is better to take it in Duty. From local strong drinks, you can try date vodka called BUHA (36%), it is also sold in Duty, by the way.

On excursions to the Sahara, and in general, they did not come across snakes and scorpions. Most likely, these are rare cases, it’s very unlikely on organized excursions, if you just decide to go somewhere yourself or dig something up :-) In the Sahara, it’s better to be in any closed shoes that are comfortable for you, otherwise you know, it’s so interesting to watch eccentrics on camels, in sands, on mountainous passages in shales or on heels :-)
аватар Elena-S
At the expense of transportation: in addition to a taxi, which is the most expensive option of all, you can ride a tuk-tuk (open bus) or local buses, as well as rent a car (if you want to drive around the cities and towns yourself). There are two types of taxis: yellow inside the city, and luage between cities (you can get to the capital of Tunisia for 4-6 dinars, depending on which city you leave from.

Elena-S, Buha is not a date, but a fig (fig) moonshine ... People, why go on vacation to drink endlessly ?? What do you see in this state? and boots won't even save you on excursions... drunk Russian scorpions and snakes will even find themselves in your own room. But do not count on 5 stars (in all respects), settling in 2 + -3 * ... this is a utopia! In reality, this is luxury, compared to the Crimea ... but not to Europe. And for all sorts of questions there are many answers on the tab questions answers ... select Tunisia. Every time they ask the same thing... Exclusive worthy. in Sousse is a local brothel...in the medina.
аватар DegusT
Dyutik in Monastir on arrival is probably more expensive than in Minsk ... you have to keep in mind that this is a resort airport ... The difference in price for 0.5 martinis is 5 euros, compared with Kyiv.
аватар Elena-S
safsaf, why did you get the idea that people are going to "thump endlessly"? Alcohol can be taken as a present or as a sample of what the local population produces. You need to be more tolerant and loyal to people, and if it’s a burden, you don’t have to write answers
аватар Dmitry_MINSK
No, we are cultural tourists :) (Belarusians themselves are quite calm for the most part, there are jokes about this :)), we can relax for 200-300g in the evening in a hotel without wild dances, decently, the purpose of the trip is excursions, the beach. We will take an inexpensive 3 * hotel, breakfasts are now in mind SOUSSE RESIDENCE (appart) triple 11 days with a departure from Minsk 1700 BB (with a 5% discount), this is the cheapest I found, and the biggest discount that they bargained for. The room has a mini-kitchen, refrigerator, TV, the hotel is normal but modest, urban, the sea can be seen from the balcony. Thanks a lot for the replies :)
Nobody made a Russian-Arabic phrasebook (Tunisian dialect), I'll change it to a good Russian-Egyptian one :).
аватар DegusT
Especially for Elena: dear "expert" if you travel to Tunisia at least 10 times or at least spend a total of at least 6 months there. then you will not only understand that Tibarin liquor is made from dates in Tunisia, and Buha moonshine from figs. Accordingly, you will notice that no matter how bitter it is, but the rest of Russians, unlike other tourists, is expressed in endless drunkenness. This is of course a personal matter for everyone ... but people do not understand that there are restrictions. The same applies to smoking. Therefore, there is no need to tell what to write to whom ... or to whom to be more loyal! Gain more experience and then you will give truthful advice to beginners. And I wish my comrades Belarusians a great holiday, do not listen to all this, but acquire your own experience. I wonder what will be confirmed from our observations on your trip.
