I was in Tunis (Sousse) from October 9th to 19th last year. The weather is gorgeous, the sea is warm. In my opinion, this is the best time to visit the Sahara. And in Tunisia, IMHO, just for the sake of the Sahara and go. It is simply not possible to describe all the beauty and emotions in words ... The sea, of course, is clean, but not Red ...
