What is an airplane mask?
Tell me, does anyone know if airlines have specific requirements for the type of masks? For a long time I read that they should be without a valve, but at the same time the usual blue thin "dailies" - please. Now I opened the UIA website - there are no instructions, it seems, it just says "masks". Here is a quote: “Passengers and airline staff wear personal protective masks at all times. We support the initiative of passengers to use other protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles or face shields. It is forbidden to leave used protective masks on seats and in seat pockets on board airplane."
Is it possible with a valve or not? :)

Hello, there are no requirements for a mask at UIA now. It seems that none of our airlines has requirements, foreign ones have.

We flew recently to Windrose, all the passengers were wearing masks, including masks with valves - there were no questions for them

Thanks a lot for the answers!

From the point of view of collective safety, masks with valves are dangerous.
That's right, a conceptual note.
We checked it. My wife flew to Bodrum last week on a UIA flight. The valve was not allowed.

HotLine, thanks for your reply. Badly:(

Of the Ukrainian airlines ban respirators with a valve:
-The wind rose
The passenger is obliged to wear personal protective equipment (respirator or protective mask that does not have breathing valves) throughout the trip,
https://windrose.aero/covid-19/
-UAU
The use of respirators with an exhalation valve is prohibited, as biological material, which may contain an infectious disease agent, is unidirectionally released through the exhalation valve on the respirator.

Regulators recommend the use of medical masks - they meet the requirements of the European standard EN 14683: 2014. Do not use masks with breathing valves.

Azura previously had no requirements for the type of masks.

In fact, on regular flights this rule is usually observed, on charter flights everything is different, depending on the human factor.

So far, I have only met specific requirements for masks with Austrian Airlines - the ffp2 standard. The rest of the airlines didn’t care, even if they sewed a mask out of dirty underpants. I fly in a regular reusable fabric mask (Russian airlines, Ethiopian, Greek SkyExpress, no problems).

No, I just need to use a mask with good protection, Turkey doesn’t need PCR, and reading the forums makes my hair stand on end - people advise sick people to swallow Nurofen and fly, “it’s better to get sick in the sea anyway” and “don’t try to show someone that you are sick, they will lock you up in isolation :( But in good protection without a valve it’s hard to breathe, the valve solves this issue. I just don’t understand why it is more harmful than gauze on the beard or one-time thin ones, through which everything flies back and forth without hindrance. And than it is dangerous, everyone needs to be in masks :)
Thanks for answers!

According to information received from airlines, starting from 06/01/2021, all passengers on all flights arriving from Ukraine to Turkey AGAIN need PCR tests.

agent_borabora, thanks, I didn't know!

I do not use disposable masks stupidly because it is not environmentally friendly. It is scary to imagine how much synthetic waste nature receives additionally due to the so-called anti-epidemic measures.
Masks with valves are prohibited in some places, since the air exhaled through the valve is not filtered, respectively, contains the virus. The logic is idiotic, because even disposable masks are not airtight, but here there is someone who is very good in the governments of the countries of the world))).

I do not find information ... only that quarantine measures are weakening
аватар Pachok
I use both disposable and non-disposable. There is a lot of waste, yes, but there is less other waste. From lipstick to clothes, shoes and gasoline.

according to the experience of Turkey / Egypt Windrose, Azur and Turkishi, I take with me a 3M respirator mask (FFP3) without a valve and the same one with a valve, according to Turkish and Winds, a respirator mask without a valve was allowed
We saw on the flight Azura (Kyiv-Hurghada) passengers in a respirator mask with a valve, we also changed and the whole flight was in a respirator mask with a valve
аватар antonua
Update - it seems to have been extended until June 3 inclusive, but it's better to check everything directly with the airline.
аватар nataha33
Tell me, please, what kind of antigen can you take in 48 hours? Is this some kind of quick test?
аватар antonua
@nataha33
antigen - this is exactly the same swab from the nasopharynx, but the result is within 15-30 minutes.
in Kyiv, it can even be cheaper than PCR (but not everyone does it).
аватар nataha33
thanks antonua! You will have to find out the cost, because 15-30 minutes is good! )

From Turkey with tests in the morning announced from 02.06.21. By the end of the day it was announced - from 04.06.21.
Horror. Who makes such decisions there.
Not everything is so simple with antigens. With a negative result, the conclusion is obvious - you can fly. But with the positive - there are options. For example, a person is healthy but has recently become ill. Asymptomatic. And according to this test he will not be allowed on the flight. Therefore, laboratories ask what type of test is needed. We do not have a tourist practice yet. As with "documents on vaccination or disease transferred to COVID-19 ".
Turkish tourists are needed, but it stings. The ban was extended until June 21
аватар Pachok
Stunned ... Yesterday they ran to pass the test, after the chartershop calls "urgently hand over, they won't put you on the flight."
An hour later they call - "light out" :) In general, we are with tests and minus 2500 UAH. Could have bought better ice cream :)
Something is wrong with the Turks ...
аватар ollennka
Still, it was necessary to go to Greece))) There is at least certainty.))
аватар Pachok
Not this time :) We will definitely go to the hotel for a week or two, but "savage" - well, in figs, the Greeks have no idea what a decent accommodation for a reasonable price is. Turks have :)
аватар ollennka
Turks, yes, I respected them even more after a trip to Greece)). And not only in terms of the level of hotels, but also in terms of preserving historical values. To be honest, ancient Greek sights look the worst in Greece.)))
аватар HotLine
ollennka, with the "certainty" of Greece, you made fun - in the spring they postponed the opening date several times (congratulations on the beginning of summer). Because of this, we have several transfers of tours and one info tour to Corfu burned down.
In Turkey, ours planned to mirror the return tests. And the mirror was broken.
Oh, and the business of these laboratories. They created a market for about 10% of all outbound tourism. Per year.
