Let's go wild to Kas. Please, who was there, share information about the costs.
Interested in everything. How much money did you spend on food? What are the prices in shops, bazaars? Where is the best and what to buy? Which is better to visit the beach (with a child)? Where to go on an excursion? Etc. Thanks.

Cash is a great choice! We are going to this city for the second time and already with a big group! It’s hard to get there, but it depends on how you get to the city itself (I assume from Antalya). By bus is much cheaper than by car, but longer - 4 hours. You can rent a car with a driver (better in advance - I can give a link). We were offered $35 per person one way. You can spend a lot of money on food - choose the right restaurant - those closer to the waterfront prices can differ 4-5 times from those deeper into the city. Fish in a restaurant costs about 15 lire (about $9), but you won't find better fish anywhere. You can also stay in a hotel from $35 to $100/day/person/HB (both on the peninsula and in the city). From the peninsula you can get to the city by minibus for 1.75 lira. Shrimps and crabs are expensive, for this it is better to go to Finike. 2 public beaches - one on the lintel of the peninsula (we were there all the time.
there are essentially 2 of them - on one side of the road - sand (good for a child), on the other side - pebbles - choose what you like). I wasn’t on the second beach, I can’t say anything. Excursions - Kekova - good for a child. Saklikent: heavy but interesting.

There will be questions - write :)

Yes, get ready for the fact that they do not know Russian at all. English - few, but in hotels all administrators - should know.

Jane11 Thank you. We are going in the middle of June. The apartment has already been rented and the transfer from Antalya too. I accidentally found a girl in a travel agency who has been living in Kash for a year (she is from Odessa). She also rented a car for us for 2 weeks, which we will be there. Therefore, there will be opportunities to travel. But to be honest, it’s not convenient for me to ask her about shops, beaches and excursions. We will cook ourselves. She said that restaurants and cafes are very expensive. And in the store, meat is $ 20 per kg. Fish is also very expensive. And that you can buy meat and fish only in stores, but not in the market. About the beach, you write that there is sand, but she says - only pebbles and platforms. Have you been last year? If you can, write about the prices in shops and in the bazaar, about the beach in Kas, and isn't it better to go somewhere? (eg Caputazh or Patara)? And what is this excursion - Kekova?
аватар Jane11
Share - how much did it cost you to rent a car? with a driver? I can not say about the high cost of prices in restaurants at the moment, because. were in August 2009, but a friend from Turkey said that the prices had not changed much. Probably cheaper to buy at the market. there is a fish market in the center (they call it Market). The price in the restaurant (ready-made) and in the market was the same - 15 liras per 1 piece. Yes, mostly there are pebbles and platforms, but there are 3 beaches from which there is a smooth entry into the sea. Here we rested. If you have the Google Earth program, you can see in detail all the photos of the beaches (one is on the bridge with the peninsula (where there are mostly villas), the second is to the right of the city, the third (I don’t know if it has already been completed) to the left of the city, opposite the first beach. In We didn't buy groceries in stores, because we had food at the hotel. So, for little things.I remember grapes and fruits - the prices are the same as in Kyiv or the Crimea in the same period (the city is expensive).
About additional beaches - Kaputash (pebble) is very beautiful, but the descent and, accordingly, the ascent, only on the steps. Again, look at Google Earth - there are photos of the stairs and the beach itself. To go to him by car - not for long - about 15-20 minutes. Patara is also one
аватар Jane11
from the most beautiful beaches (sandy). About 20 km long. As far as I remember, he, like Kaputash, was awarded the blue flag. I think there is an entry fee. Gentle entry and for children the best place for swimming. He is for Kaputash, i.e. going to Patara, you pass Kaputas. About 30 km from Kas. About Kekova - see the link http://prikol.bigmir.net/view/88946/ You can book this tour in one of the many travel agencies in Kas. One day boat trip. Stops 4-5 for swimming in the sea from the boat. View from the boat of the sunken city. Lunch on the ship. The excursion is relaxing, but be sure to take a protective cream with you, because. you will be in the sun all the time. Good luck!

Good afternoon, Jane11! We rented a car from the same agency in Kas as the apartment and transfer. 50 lire per day for a small Hyundai, without a driver (we are drivers ourselves). Thanks for the Kekova link. We will definitely go. I would like to see something not only from the car, but also from the sea. They say that somewhere near, north of Kas, there is some amazing lake? Were not? I am at a loss how much money I need to take for food, because. you will have to cook by yourself. And we are 4 adults and a child of 2.5 years. The girl from the agency advised interestingly - take more. Good luck to you too and have a good rest!
аватар Jane11
Natalia, for renting a car - thank you, I understand :) I heard about the lake and we are going to take the Jeep Safari tour, which includes a visit to trout lakes. I haven't found any links on the internet yet. We are targeting 30 euros per day per person. This is the maximum. We plan to fit in. By the way, you will take ice cream - the cost is indicated for 1 ball :) We laughed for a long time when they beautifully laid out a few balls for us and demanded more money :) In general, Turkey is a country of the east until you realize that you have been understood that you are ready to pay so much, but no more - do not pay. Bargain. And you and have a good rest!
аватар NataliiaA
Jane11, I'm sorry I didn't understand. 30 euros per person per day - is it only for food or is there something else included? If only for food, then for 14 days and for 4 of my adults, a good amount is obtained. Honestly, I expected a smaller amount. Will you cook by yourself or in a cafe (restaurant)?
аватар Jane11
Natalia, didn't finish writing "We plan to meet 15 :))))" 30 is the maximum amount - if you eat in a restaurant every day 3 times :) or order catering. We plan to cook breakfast ourselves, and dinner - either order food delivery from the nearest hotels (we have not yet practiced this, but we are thinking of agreeing), or have dinner in the city. because I'm not sure if we will have a grill in the villa, and grilled fish in this region is especially delicious. There is no goal - to spend money as much as possible, but the city is expensive (in terms of food) in comparison with others, so we take 30, but we plan to spend 15 per day.

Jane11, good afternoon! Thank you for answering in such detail. Here you are talking about fish. And where is it for sale? The girl from the agency told me that fish and meat can only be bought at the supermarket. That at the market in the summer they have a ban on fish. And if in a supermarket, is it fresh there or all frozen, like we have?
аватар Jane11
I answer in such detail - because I want your vacation to leave the same positive emotions as I had when I got to Kas for the first time :). I have not heard about the ban, maybe something has changed in 1.5 years. I write as before. We were advised a restaurant - it is run by 2 brothers. 1st administrator, 2nd cook. When we asked for a fish dish, they offered us to go to the market (in order to increase confidence) and choose the fish we like, but they advised us to pay attention to one, they say it is the most delicious. We walked literally 30 meters and there we saw chilled fish on the counter in the ice (it's all located in the central square, although by the standards of the metropolis it's rather a small area :) It was that fish that foreigners bought for 15 lire. We turned around and went to the restaurant. There they prepared it for us for 15 lire. They call supermarkets - small shops. I have never seen frozen - all chilled in ice crumbs.

Jane11, thank you very much. Now it’s clear that you really need to take more money, let’s better bring it back. Although, I know from experience that no matter how much you take, you will spend everything. Now, having some idea of the city, driving is not so disturbing. If it were not for the child and my not young parents, whom we take with us, I would not worry at all. And so...
аватар NataliiaA
Yes, I forgot to ask. What month are you going? And in what were in 2009, not in June?
аватар Jane11
Natalia, we are going to from 31.05 to 11.06. We are afraid that there may be a cool sea, and 2009 was at the beginning of August - it was hot. Don't worry, the city is quiet and very friendly. Only foreigners from all over the world go there (we met from Australia, Argentina, Japan, Italy, France, once we saw Russian speakers - a young couple) so this is a "city without spoiled Russians" :) We didn’t get a single negative - only positive emotions, which is what I wish you :)

Hello Jane11! What a pity that you are leaving on 11! And we arrive on June 11th. Just spoke to Marina, our agency girl in Kas. She said that she also works with you on rent. We accidentally found out about this in a conversation. He says that Russian speakers are a rarity and thank God. You will have a good sea, but the evenings and nights will be without stuffiness. Which is what I wish you. Write, I am very glad to your letters. Have a nice rest.
аватар Jane11
Natalya, yes, we laughed together when you wrote that you also communicate with Marina :) Once again confirms that the city is small and there are few Russian speakers. Yes, I almost forgot - be sure to bring a fumigator or mosquito repellent. Because I'm not sure what you will find there, but last time - mosquitoes did not let you sleep at night. If I remember anything else, I'll write. We will have access to i-net in Kas, so if you have any questions before leaving - write :)
аватар NataliiaA
Jane11! I wanted to ask you about fumigators and forgot. Thanks for the reminder. In every room or just in the bedrooms to buy? Are there mosquito nets on the windows? You have to ask Marina. (I torture her with my questions).
When you are in Kas, you will of course have the Internet, but it will be very surprising if you want to spend time on this. But this is good. Once again I wish you infinitely positive emotions from the rest and a lot of impressions.
аватар Jane11
Natalya, I will only take it to the bedroom - because we have a villa - you can't neutralize it all from insects :) If you have an apartment - I would take it to all the rooms. It is unlikely that there are mosquito nets there, and mosquitoes will still make their way into the cracks :) In any case, I check the mail 2-3 times a day - such a job :) So write, I will receive a notification and I will try to answer your questions. Thanks again for the wish

Jane11! And thank you very much. There will be a desire to write - write, I will be very glad.

Good evening, Jane11! Regarding the lakes and other possible excursions where you have not been, I think it is better to ask Marina and, moreover, when you are already in Kas. She says that she knows Kash and its surroundings well and can even be a guide. In any case, I think that she can tell everything in detail. (Where, where and how much). And not only about excursions. Any question you have, I hope (as she says) you can call her and she will help.
My friends, last year, went to Turkey, to Belek, rented an apartment through Villa renters. Their landlady was an Englishwoman. They never saw her. And when their child became very ill, of course they went to the hospital, but there was no support from anyone and it was certainly scary in a foreign country alone.
Have you rented a villa in the center or on the peninsula? We are in the center, 500 meters from the sea, as they say. At first I didn’t understand it, I just liked it and that’s it. And then I already regretted that I was not on the peninsula.
Although Marina assures me, or rather her director, that the place is very good.
аватар Jane11
Natalia, good afternoon! Thank you, we thought so - on the spot to talk with Marina. We rented a villa on the peninsula. Here is a link: http://www.propertieskas.com/emlakbak.asp?IDurun=57 We wanted to stay in a nice quiet place with a pool. I saw these villas last time - they seemed to us the best on the peninsula. For a big company - we get it not expensive :) In my opinion, there is a minus both in the city and on the peninsula. The city has very steep ascents and descents, but there are shops. On the peninsula (if without a car) - take a minibus to the city for 10-15 minutes, which runs 1 time in 30 minutes and there are no shops.

Hello Jane11! Very beautiful villa. And most importantly, and I studied villas in Kas, you have a good combination of price, quality and number of people (the possibility of settling up to 10 people).
And you, when you were last time, didn’t notice how it is, if you shoot not far from the center, it’s not very noisy? (we have 500 meters from the nearest coast, but I don't know how far it is from the center)
аватар Jane11
Natalia, yes, we chose the villa precisely on this price-quality principle, we hope that we weren’t deceived :) There are streets where only one car can pass, and tourist buses and jeeps take tourists on excursions every day - it’s noisy there. The city is small - if you send me a link - I'll try to remember, because. I have memories from the city - small streets and a "house on a house" (I don't want to scare you, but there are such houses and hotels there) and from the central square - 100 meters to the pier. The city is unevenly located along the sea, some part is flatter, some is steeper and further away from the sea.
аватар NataliiaA
Good evening, Jane11! I don't think you need to worry about the villa. I just can't imagine that there could be anything bad.
When we chose our housing, out of the three options chosen, our option was advised to me, through Marina, by her owner. He said that this is a charm, and not a place, that it is quiet and very beautiful, as we wanted: all the windows overlook the sea and beautiful furnishings (my husband is very sensitive to these things), and there is a garden in the yard, etc. . I don't know, between us, whether he can be trusted! But I fell for it. As you say, I hope I am not deceived.
What's good, Marina said that the center is close and you can walk (without a car!) And see and buy everything.
аватар NataliiaA
Good evening, Jane11! I did not want to disturb you on vacation, but I could not resist. I hope you are happy with everything and have a lot of fun. If you have a minute, write your impressions. I will be glad to everything.
аватар Jane11
Natalia, good afternoon! I didn’t remember the link to the forum - I just found it :) You asked for prices: potatoes 1-1.5 lira (I’ll write everything in lira in the future). Chicken: fillet: 10 lira in the shop on the central square and 8.5 in supermarkets. Chicken thigh tenderloin: 12 lira per center. square and 10-11 in the store. Tomatoes - 1 lira (you need to buy either at the bazaar on Friday or in a specialized vegetable store. Zucchini - 1.5 lira. Meat (beef and lamb) - expensive from 25 to 35 lira - we have never bought it. But for the second time we order Tuna (in a tray on the central square) price 5-7 lira (we bargained for 5 per kg. Weight from 3.5 to 7 kg. You need to order in advance. apricots -3-4 lira. Ayran - somewhere from 1.6 up to 2 liras per 1 liter Beer (Efes) in the store 2.7 liras, in a cafe from 5 to 7 liras We took white wine - 12.9 per 1 liter (we tried 2 types - we settled on one). they have it: meat, alcohol and cigarettes... Write if you have any questions :)
аватар Jane11
Yes, it is very hot now, 32-34 degrees in the shade, so stock up on sunscreen
аватар NataliiaA
Good evening, Jane11! I'm very glad you answered me. Thanks for the price list. It is interesting. Tell me, is the tuna tasty (it's very dry)? And what did you do with it, how did you prepare it? How was it cut (fillet or slices)?
You write prices in the area and in the store, but in terms of the quality of the product, it doesn’t matter where to buy?
How do you rest? Are you satisfied with the villa? How does Marina help you? Should we count on her (between us)? How do you like Kash? Where did you go on excursions and do you advise to go? If you have a minute, write. I am in a severe "pre-resting" fever.
