Should I bring my own beach towels or buy them there?
I am studying resorts and hotels by next summer. The trip is the first - so the questions are naive. I started with economical options - 3 *, moving to the best is easier than going down. In many hotels they write - there are no towels, in fact, this is the norm for us, in general - people either bring their own or drag them quietly out of the room (or combine them). What about Turkey? Should I bring it with me or is there an opportunity to buy and use it cheaply? Options - buy for 4 very cheaply, use it and leave it or buy cheap good ones that will come in handy at home and that it will not be a burden to carry them. What is possible?

if the hotel does not have beach towels, we bring our own .... in principle, you can buy it, but I won’t say that the towels are really very cheap .... yes, you have to go to the shops to look where it’s cheaper (until we figure out which store is cheaper until we go around everything) and I want to swim right away ... in the hotel shop everything is much more expensive than in local shops ...

I take one towel even if the hotel has beach towels ... when, for example, we arrive very early and check in from 14 o'clock (the children immediately want to swim) until they gave me a room and towels (at 14 o'clock)

I agree with yltra. We take ours. There are no problems with issuance, replacement, loss and other problems. They take up little space, and, in the end, it's more hygienic than lying on who knows what.

even if check-in is from 14.00, and tourists arrive early in the morning, they are immediately registered, they cling to a hotel bracelet and issue a card for a beach towel (if beach towels are for a deposit in the hotel description). After that, you can go to the beach and relax until 14.00. Towels are changed every evening from dirty to clean, in principle, you can not change, use for two days. Personally, I didn’t have any problems with towels - they were clean, changed according to the rules. It is forbidden to take towels from the room! If the hotel does not provide beach towels, then in my opinion, it is better to take something that is easy to dry from natural fabric, as it will need to be washed at least every 2 days.

In many hotels, towels (beach) are already in the room and you won’t be able to take a towel before they give you a room ...
аватар yltra
it may also be that on a card (deposit) towels are issued at a strictly defined time and this time may not coincide with the time of arrival .....

And who knows the prices for large towels?
4 terry towels to drag - not a little space.
аватар yltra
we took thin towels ... I think you don’t need to take thick terry towels ... I don’t remember about the prices for terry towels ... but they seem to use them in the hammam, they bought three pieces for $ 5 ... terry ones are definitely much more expensive ...
аватар yltra
although these towels for the hammam cost more, we just bought a lot of things in this store and they dropped the price for these towels ...
аватар yltra
in general, I think that prices in Turkey for clothes, leather, etc. quite large (compared to the prices of St. Petersburg), even in migros, all the same brands are more expensive than in St. Petersburg stores like mega toto galleries ....

when we went for the first time, we bought towels on the spot, right at the hotel on the way to the beach, for 7 dollars, I think. now we carry them with us if towels are not provided at the hotel. in threes there are usually no towels, in fours, too, every other time. I agree with ultra, it is better, of course, to buy from the Turks those striped things that are used in the hammam, thin, pleasant, do not take up much space, and are much cheaper than terrycloths.

Plus, they dry faster than terry cloth.

Dear Mirimma! Let me offer you another option - 3 stars - it sucks in Turkey. No normal food, no normal rooms, no rest - you are even thinking about towels. Unless you are lucky with the sea and the weather, which, of course, is super important .Better collect money for a 4+ absolutely wonderful hotel, for example, Amelia Beach Resort - Amelia Beach Resort Hotel & Spa - really good hotels -
sea, but it’s better not to start with a bad one.
аватар Mirimma
Thanks for the suggestion. But...
As for the prices now, nothing can be said at all - it's too early. Now for me the *theoretical* part - the more you know, the easier it is to make a decision (especially if you need to quickly).
And with towels, I just want to solve the issue - to drag it on our vacation or not to drag it (or one thing, so it was), there are detergents in the hotel (especially shampoo) I don’t care - my young ladies don’t know how to wash their hair all the same will not.
Well, the 4 * you offer - Google shows it as 5 * And judging by the reviews - again, you can’t please everyone, and for some it’s the same crap. And in the description of the sand-pebble beach - about the entrance to the sea - there is nothing at once. Perhaps already in this parameter it will not work with 5 * - I want a sandy entrance to the sea.

For hygiene reasons, we always take our own, as I'm not sure that they are washed daily. In Yegi, I saw a woman with spots on her back that looked like lichen. This once again convinced me that it is still better to have your own.
аватар Mirimma
Horror ... But the disgust is still exorbitant * to crush * - otherwise you won’t be able to sleep on the train and in hotels you won’t sleep, wash or dry yourself.
аватар lsklsk
Mirimma, is that really disgusting? This is elementary accuracy and caution, which, as you know, is never superfluous. to catch a skin infection of unknown etiology in a foreign country, I think no one wants to. I travel by train, bus, and plane. For me, the most important thing is cleanliness, albeit relative, and then CHIC.
аватар Mirimma
Yes, she herself is like that) And in disgust, in fact, there is nothing wrong if it is within reasonable aisles.

Choose a good three-ruble note without show-offs. For example, Blauhimmel in Kemer. Very, very compact area, clean. The rooms have everything you need - shower, toilet, balcony, air conditioning and TV with 3 Russian channels. Sea - 5 minutes. There is a long promenade nearby. The food is good. In early June, about 350 dollars per person in a double. Great for a first time. Then we rested in large hotels such as the Hilton. We need to move from the worst to the best.
аватар Pachok
And I would advise "three rubles" in the first line. At least some bonus to the low category :) - Peker, Montana or Sumela Garden.

KiskaMary, I agree from simple to complex from worst to best. We have previously decided on Alanya, sand at the entrance to the sea. As fallback options, I’ll look at Side (well, you need to be ready, you never know), if we get rich sharply, then Fethiye
аватар Mirimma
Pachok, no pebbles next year))) Therefore, not Kemer.
аватар Pachok
Good "cracks" in Alanya and Side, unfortunately I do not know.
But the village of Chalysh near Fethiye is a very budget vacation, and hotels are mostly 3 *. Tez was selling.

Horror ... But the disgust is still exorbitant * to crush * - otherwise you won’t be able to sleep on the train and in hotels you won’t sleep, wash or dry yourself. - I'm sorry I didn't get it.
KiskaMary - *For hygienic reasons, we always take our own, as I'm not sure if they are washed daily. In Yegi, I saw a woman with spots on her back that looked like lichen. * - if you think that beach towels do not wash well, then why should the towels issued in the hotel be washed well (wrap yourself up a little and you are already almost sure that that woman with stains wiped herself with them and she slept on your sheet ...) , as well as bed linen too ... In short, if disgust is allowed to play out in the head, then all syphilitics ate in the dining room and did not keep the dishes in the autoclave, and the workers definitely did not have all the certificates ... A terrible thing is a sick fantasy
аватар Pachok
"A creepy thing is a sick fantasy."
This is not a sick fantasy, this is the reality of modern life :)
I have one friend - a lover of hotel pools and saunas, public towels, etc. He constantly declares "to be afraid of wolves - do not go into the forest" and ... constantly after the holidays he drags himself to the doctors - he will pick up one infection, then another. At least for hygienic purposes, it is better to have your own towel.
аватар lsklsk
Mirimma, I don't understand you. In one review, you write that you see nothing wrong with disgust (although I meant elementary hygiene), and in the next review, write about a sick fantasy. Decide, please. Unlike you, I already have some experience of visiting other countries and I know how to behave there. Pay attention to the Pachok review. I repeat once again - this is not about disgust, but about CARE and CAUTION.
аватар lsklsk
I also want to add that in many hotels (even 5 *) in piles with clean dishes, there are plates with leftovers from the previous meal. Yes, yes, this often happens! Will you close your eyes to this? Or do you still take clean dishes?
аватар Mirimma
KiskaMary. I don’t close my eyes, I don’t eat from dirty dishes, and with dirty forks, as well as with spoons. But you didn’t understand the answer - well, thinking is different - I won’t insist, let alone explain again - well, fate. Yes, and when they see a dirty spoon, a plate, people with different psyches will behave differently - someone will go to wash it himself, especially if the child is with them.
аватар Mirimma
KiskaMary - everyone talked about their own, although they will do the same.
аватар Mirimma
Pachok, can we talk about a toothbrush?
Then read the question, well, you can write on the topic, although thanks to others I already understood how to do better.
