Where to go on vacation with small children?
Advise pliz rest in our beautiful Carpathians) The budget has not yet thought, you need to see what options there are in general and prices. Children are small, so special attention is paid to nutrition and a good area for walking.

This year we chose Reikartz Polyana. We even went to check it out! The prices are moderate, the hotel is of a good standard - everything is modern, the plumbing is new, the linen is clean, air conditioners, balconies, heated towel rails. The use of the swimming pool is included in the price. There is an open playground, a decent lawn partly with shade, a volleyball court. The children's room is very small, only in case of emergency weather. The food, in my opinion, is not bad, suitable for children if there are no allergies or a special diet. We spent the night one night, for dinner we caught one type of fish - something like a hake in cream, and two types of meat - a stew (not fried chicken) and a non-diet bolognese. Garnish - buckwheat, rice, pasta. For salad - fresh and salted cucumbers, grated beetroot, cabbage - but it was still only March. Some factory made cookies. For breakfast - eggs, omelettes, cottage cheese, something hot meat, I don't remember anymore, muesli, cereal and some kind of porridge - they came to close, they had already eaten it. Two bottles of drinking water in the room every day. Mineral water Polyana Kvasova - from the tap near the reception.

By cost - there is simply the cost of a room per day, which includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner, swimming pool, pump room. There is a "voucher", which also includes lunch, a doctor's consultation, some not very expensive procedures, a sauna and a sports hall.
Around the same non-Soviet small sanatoriums and private estates and forests.

25 km further there is another hotel - Reikartz Karpaty, we lived there a few days a couple of years ago. It is better in terms of location and services for children - too. There is a large children's room with an animator Yura :), whom everyone praises very much and there is a pool with "sea" water. But there was a problem with food, and from the reviews I see that nothing has changed so far.
Both the first and second prices for a standard room fluctuate in price around 1000 USD. per month. The ticket is a bit more expensive. Regarding children, it is necessary to clarify, I learned about two-year-olds - for free.

In Skhidnitsa we were in "Santa Maria" and in "Respect" - we liked both there and there. Food is better in Respect, children's entertainment - in Santa Maria. There are swimming pools and a medical part both there and there. But Skhidnitsa has its own specifics of recreation: the territory of the hotels is small, the distances are vice versa, i.e. better be with your car. But what makes it good, in addition to beautiful nature, is the closest of the resorts where there are already mountains :) It is several hours less by car than in Transcarpathia.

Oh, thank you very much for such a detailed story about the Carpathians!
I think Transcarpathia is not the best option yet, because we want to go by car, and the children won’t be able to stand this far for sure. Therefore, I consider the Carpathians.
Which of the following applies to him?
And maybe you have heard something about Yaremche? I looked after the Edelweiss hotel there ... though there is no food, as I understand it, you need to pay and search separately, but according to reviews, there are a lot of places where you can eat well and tasty without problems.
аватар hatinka
If by car, then choose not Yaremche. Something more natural, quieter) You are not very right about "this is the closest of the resorts where there are already mountains :)" Although, depending on where to go)))

The nearest Carpathian region is Skhidnytsia. Beautiful place! Mountains, air, but there is also civilization. Last year we went with my daughter 1 year 4 months. We left Kiev at 3 am, she was sleeping. We made a stop near Rivne on the "Sokar" drank coffee, she was sleeping a bottle of milk, changed clothes - and further. I woke up already at 8 not far from Truskavets, and there it was only an hour away.
And, it's up to you, but I would not advise taking a hotel without meals. Everywhere in Western Ukraine there are problems with normal food in cafes/restaurants. There, adults, after three days, want to howl from bograchi, banosh, potato pancakes and shish kebabs. Tasty for them is fatty and fried.
I won’t tell you anything about Yaremche - I was only passing through there, I never spent the night.

Oh, yes, I just looked at the map - we are from Kyiv, and if you go from Kramatorsk via the Dnieper, Uman, Vinnitsa, then Ivano-Frankivsk is closer on the map. And Chernivtsi. From them another 50-100 km to the mountains. You really need to evaluate the road ...
аватар elenka021
No, no, I'm already from Kiev too)))
аватар elenka021
Looked at the hotel you wrote about. In Polyana, I want to go there .... I just don’t know what to do with the distance.
аватар Pachok
O! My recommendation is Skhodnitsa :)
The route is magnificent to Lvov, then normal to Truskavets, then - an acceptable road with a disgusting piece of road 5-6 km long in the city of Borislav.
But those Reikers that I wrote about are located not far from the Svalyava station, this, if you are considering the railway. Transfer from the hotel meets at the station, 15 minutes drive to Reikartz Polyana, 30-40 to Reikartz Karpat.
аватар Pachok
Yes, there is more distance. Together with my husband, we went normally, of course, but with my daughter - we’ll go only in June. Approximately 2 - 2.5 hours farther it turns out than in Skhidnitsa.
аватар elenka021
Yes .. if without children, then you can go to the Himalayas)) just kidding.
And with children, you need to think through and optimize everything as much as possible. Once again, I’ll clarify whether you went to the clearing without a car? If we consider railway There will not be a lot of problems due to the lack of a car?
аватар Pachok
Heaps of problems there, most likely, will not be - everything you need is in the hotel. In walking distance - the village of Polyana itself. If absolutely necessary, the hotel will help you with a transfer to where you ask.
We didn't go to Polyana without a car. Now we are going by car, and three grandparents are going by train :)
аватар elenka021
Oh, you are the whole family))) class!
Today we will discuss with my husband the options-glade and similar.
аватар elenka021
We spent last summer in Uzhgorod. Ride nearby. ..looked. ..we lived and returned to Kyiv in September. Now we just want to rest for a week and a half.
If you remember Egypt has already been this year.
We are also considering Turkey, but I also want the Carpathians. Plus, it's a lot cheaper.)
аватар Pachok
We used to go to Turkey in October with such trains, only there was no child yet - we took out all our beloved elderly parents. Life makes adjustments - with such a team we will no longer be able to pull to Turkey ... And it is necessary to change sides with a child somewhere in the summer, so as not to sit on the pavement in Kyiv.
We have the sea for the fall and only the three of us - Turkey, Greece, Italy - where there will be a humane price for the right period. Last year, two tour operators offered Sardinia and continental Italy at ridiculous prices, we didn’t need it then.
In Skhidnytsia, besides the Respect of Saint Mary, Three sons and a daughter, look. We have not been, but very praised. Not far from Skhidnytsia we went to "Taor" to have a look - we didn't like it at all.
аватар elenka021
Yes, at the current rate, many are reconsidering their capabilities (((
Here I am Turkey, most likely at the beginning of autumn.
And we’ll stand there, maybe we’ll fly off in June if the price is good.
аватар elenka021
Thank you very much! Personally, I have already decided, the word remains for my husband. I still want to go to Polyana.
I contacted both Polyana and Respect - they calculated the cost for me. It turns out that Polyana is a little cheaper.
аватар elenka021
I reread the reviews about Reikartz Polyana and the Carpathians, they write something about the Carpathians better. I don't know.
аватар Pachok
I like the Carpathians more. The only factor that outweighed all the others was the food. We were satisfied with breakfast in the Carpathians, but what was served to order was no good :( And, since the child is small, I can’t imagine how to run around the neighborhood twice a day for food. And plus, of course, full a boarding house with a doctor and procedures for elderly relatives in Polyana. If you are not afraid of food, then there are more entertainment in the Carpathians and a pool with sea water in the Carpathians is my dream :)
Didn't they ask for Santa Maria? It was much cheaper there than in Respect and the food was sanatorium.
аватар elenka021
I also read about food. Maybe this is a single negative review ... when were you there? Food is very important to us, because of the children.
аватар Pachok
In Reikartz Karpaty in the summer of 2012, in Reikartz Polyana - at the end of March this year, in Santa Maria - in August/September 2014, in Respect - in October 2014.
Everywhere the food was more or less acceptable, except for what was ordered from the menu in Reikartz Karpaty. The best, as for me - in Respect, the most dietary - in Santa Maria.
аватар Pachok
The thing is that everywhere the basic cost of a room includes different things :) If we reduce everything to a common denominator, for example, three meals a day, we will get a decent run-up in cost.
Santa Maria does not have air conditioning.
аватар elenka021
Yes, the proposals are different and not a little.
And I'm wondering how much it costs to eat outside the hotel? How much for two? Of course, without caviar and other excesses)))
аватар elenka021
As for air conditioners, we never use them. They never turned it on at home))) I have a bad reaction to them - my head immediately hurts terribly.
аватар Pachok
Barbecue, mushroom soup, salad, tea for two - about 250 UAH, this is in an ordinary inexpensive cafe.
Options - banosh, bograch, vurda, etc. - you can try everything once, but eating it is problematic. If meat - then they have it fried with onions. If pancakes, then they swim in fat, and sour cream is also on top. Sour cream is everywhere, cream, cracklings and other perversions ... More or less familiar food for us - dumplings, pancakes and cheesecakes. But, firstly, you won’t last long on one syrniki, and secondly, we generally don’t eat dough :)
You can read about the cuisine of Western Ukraine:
http://www.karpaty.info/ru/info/useful/cuisine/
Sometimes you come across normal restaurants with the usual European and Ukrainian dishes, the prices are almost Kiev.
аватар elenka021
Oh yes, I know firsthand about the cuisine of Transcarpathia. When we lived in Uzhgorod, we visited the Notary's restaurant Detsa ..... with all my excellent health, my liver was missing after one visit. Therefore, there is this is not ready.
By the way, in Polyana a complex lunch is 70 per person. I was told this over the phone yesterday. I called them to clarify the points.
аватар elenka021
When are you planning to go? I can't figure out what's wrong with the weather...it's not clear when to plan. And you would need to book already .. there are so few rooms left
аватар Pachok
We are from June 1st. We just take a room with HB for ourselves, our parents go on a "voucher".
You can’t guess with the weather in the Carpathians in any way ... We found in June both clear days are warm, and clear days are cold, and it rains. Just hope for the best :)
It is very hot in July. In August - again it is not clear, in September it often rains.
If, nevertheless, Polyana, keep in mind a few things: half of the rooms overlook the courtyard, the other half onto the road. Local road, few cars. There are several unfortunate rooms - the air conditioners of the entire hotel hang on the end rooms, pumps work on the roof on the top floor.
Across the road stands "Fantasy" - according to reviews, it's also good.
аватар elenka021
I understood about the condors. Yes, I don't want to live with this. I will clarify! And we are planning from 15 or 20 June. I'm picking up a number today. And I will definitely write in the comments so that they do not give rooms with an air conditioner or on the top floor.
Do you think fantasy is worth considering?
