Yes, that's right - it is from Union and Rigga stations (they are nearby) that buses go to Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. Buses go to the cities of Abu Dhabi and Fujairah from Batuta station - this is further from Dubai Marina. And the metro as everywhere goes in both directions, so you can first go to the station.
