What to take with you on a long flight
I'm flying to Australia in two weeks. Three transfers from plane to plane and a total of about a day of flight. Thinking about how to endure such a long flight and what to take on board the plane. Well, books, crossword puzzles are a must. What other items to put in hand luggage? I can't imagine what might come in handy along the way.

Socks and ear plugs, not all airlines issue them. Wet and dry wipes, heart and headache pills.
Z.Y. Who are you flying?

I take a travel pillow and a blanket with me on long flights, it’s usually cold on board an intercontinental Boeing and the blanket that they give me is not enough. The last time, for some reason, my legs were very swollen and I was simply saved by flip flops that ended up in hand luggage. You can take a sleep mask with you, because. the light does not turn off completely and can be annoying.
If there is no knowledge of English, take a dictionary, phrasebook or translator. As for how to pass the time, these planes have TVs, and now they are individual.
Good luck!

By the way, how often do you get food on the plane? And then you can’t take food and drinks with you. My third of these flights will take 10 hours. Still I think to take tablets from motion sickness. Although there were no problems before, the flights were no longer than two hours. But what really always worries me is the terrible pain in the ears from the pressure drop.

We flew Amsterdam-Sydney with refueling in Singapore - we fed three times, they gave us as much to drink as we wanted. If you suffer from ear pain, it is better not to use earplugs, this makes your ears hurt even more (I suffer myself). Regarding pills for motion sickness, it does not depend on the duration of the flight, if you do not suffer, then there will be no problems.

You can take food with you, drinks (liquids) can only be in containers of no more than 100 ml, all placed together in a bag with a volume of no more than a liter.
From pain in the ears, my relative is saved by lollipops - on takeoff, she begins to suck them intensively, she says, it helps.

take patience - I’m usually calm until the first flight, but for 2 it’s already breaking my butt hurts and I wander around the plane, I’m rolling km on foot, I’m standing on foot, and so on, in general, just don’t sit

Here I am back! As I felt, it was the flight that brought a lot of unpleasant moments. I completely agree with ALEXAUS, patience is really very necessary. In the end, it was so tiring that I even watched the movie intermittently every 15 minutes. It's good that the ears did not hurt, so the lollipops were not even needed. On the way back I bought a pillow at the airport for 35 euros. Expensive, but I put it under my head and on the armrest, since the pillow that was given out on the plane was constantly under my back. It was really cool in one of the planes, so besides the blanket that was given out, I put on a good fleece jacket, I didn’t even put it out of my hand luggage, this thing was really very useful. And it’s good that there was a hood, it was somehow more comfortable to sleep in it. Although I usually do not really succeed in sleeping in transport. Next time I’ll definitely take a moisturizer with me, since the air in the cabin is very dry, and I didn’t really want to run constantly to the toilet and “moisturize” with the common use product that is offered there. Still need eye drops. From the pressure drop, my blood vessels even burst, my eyes are red and there is nothing to drip. But the impressions from Australia overshadowed all the inconveniences.
