Cyprus is good everywhere! It is cheaper and easier to take a package tour, there are very tempting offers from Kyiv now. It will be more expensive to eat on your own in the eurozone. In the region, I like Protaras and Ayia Napa the most. Rent a car and travel around the island. In mid-September, the sea will be gorgeous, and not so hot for trips.

I support Ayia Napa and Protaras. In Larnaca, the beaches are not very good, the sand is gray + piers and the port, in Limassol it’s also not that, Paphos is not bad, but the sea is deeper and this is the abode of English pensioners :))) Protaras is calm, small, there are singing fountains for an evening walk. in Ayia Napa I can recommend a very good hotel, for a threesome, Tasia Maris Sands. It is located near the lagoon itself, the water is clean, the beach too, the staff is pleasant, decent. Quiet, calm area, close to a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants. To the party zone 20 minutes on foot, read reviews about the hotel. It’s good to travel in a car in Cyprus, or if you don’t have a license, or you don’t want to drive, you can safely take excursions in street agencies (there is always someone who speaks Russian), 2 p cheaper than hotel guides and the quality of service is good. trick can not be afraid.

For food - we took breakfast + dinner, as we traveled around the island and returned to the hotel in the evening. it was so convenient. When we stayed at the hotel, we went to local restaurants near the hotel for lunch, 9-15 euros, along with a tip for one and a glass of wine or beer, depending on what you take. Portions are big. Local restaurants often have offers of the day - a salad, I don’t remember exactly how much, like 11 or 14 euros. Or as an option - shops with fruit, cheese, wine :)) If you do not plan to travel - you can take all inclusive.

In general, it is better not to limit yourself to only one resort, but to see the entire island. But if you really want to retire like a pensioner, then I would advise Ayia Napa and Famagusta. The best beaches, the sand is not gray, as in other places. In Famagusta it will be cheaper, of course, than in the Greek part, it is just more reasonable to rent a house or an apartment there. In terms of nutrition, it is better to have breakfast or breakfast + dinner, so that at lunchtime you can walk quietly without being tied to the hotel.

We traditionally take all inclusive, as we travel with a child who is terribly picky about food. Adults can also take breakfast and dinner, lunch during pokatushki is usually on the road. As for local taverns, they cook delicious food. The prices are European, the portions are not redneck. Be sure to try the meze, but not in a popular tourist place, but in some village. Yes, it happens that from the hotel to the nearest tavern on foot for 15-20 minutes. It's sad in the heat...
