Were last year on a two-day Luxor-Cairo-Alexandria. With an overnight stay in Cairo. In Alexandria, we visited the mosque, the presidential palace, and on the waterfront where there was a lighthouse. We swam in the sea for about an hour, washed ourselves with a hose in a flower bed and changed clothes on the bus.

Were on a two-day excursion Cairo + Alexandria, in Alexandria were a total of 5 hours.
During this time we visited 1) Montaza Park, where the residence of the President of the country is located, in the same place Montaza Bay, where we swam in the Mediterranean Sea (30 minutes, no more, the time depends on how the bus agrees with the guide).
2) Next, Kite Bay Fort (we didn’t go inside), located on the site of one of the wonders of the world - the Pharos lighthouse.
3) We visited the so-called oceanarium - a hydrobiological museum where fish, mollusks and corals caught in the Nile, the Mediterranean and Red Seas live.
4) Mosque of Abu el-Abbas - the largest and main mosque of Alexandria (we went inside).
5) Ancient Roman amphitheater.
6) The famous Alexandrian Library.
And there was lunch in one of the restaurants in Alexandria.
That seems to be all :)

Thank you for your responses. Very interesting program in Alexandria. I just wish the swim was longer. And how is the underwater world of the Mediterranean Sea? Has anyone snorkeled there?

Not very interesting. They weren’t inside the library, and they admired the prison palace only through the fence.
The garden around is really beautiful.
Naturally, no one took masks, dived like that, the water there is not so salty, you can dive deep, I didn’t see a single fish

And we liked Alexandria more than Cairo. It is a pity that so little time is given to a tour of this city. All run-run
And about the sea... We had sooooo big waves, so no one dived, we couldn't swim, because the waves knocked us off our feet.

I was very interested in this excursion-Cairo-Alexandria. But judging by your answers, you can’t get away from the gallop either. It’s a pity.
In general, I wonder if they have slow programs, or is it better to travel individually?

It is best to go for 2 days Cairo-Alexandria with an overnight stay in Alexandria. We spent the night in a very decent hotel. You can also swim there if you get up early in the morning.
Alexandria impressed much more than Cairo.

Just 3 weeks ago from there. We really enjoyed. In Cairo we visited the historical museum, the pyramids, the Sphinx, the oil factory. Cairo is just a big dump, but that's not the point. We spent the night in Alexandria in a luxurious hotel, then went to the botanical garden, to the Mediterranean Sea, to the excavated ancient theater. In short, I liked everything. We generally had a plan to see as many sights as possible. Go, you won't regret it :)

Thank you for your responses. For me, the main question was to swim more in the Mediterranean Sea. I realized for this it is better to choose an excursion with an overnight stay in Alexandria and, if the hotel is near the sea (this is not a fact), get up and swim early before breakfast.
And yet no one answered, how is the underwater world, did anyone swim with a mask?

I can’t say anything about the underwater world of the Mediterranean Sea, we went in early December, it was cool, we didn’t swim. And we lived in Alexandria in an excellent hotel, but in my opinion only Teztur organizes excursions with an overnight stay in Alexandria, the rest of the operators spend the night in Cairo.

There are no corals in the Mediterranean Sea.
