If the room is of the same category, then you are required to pay no surcharges, if you want a better room, then you will be told the amount of the surcharge at the reception. You should definitely not poke money right away, no matter what they tell you. For all our trips, I never paid extra for a room anywhere and they were always excellent rooms, sometimes the category is higher than what was bought on the tour. The main thing with a normal face, a smile. Often I read, advise which number is better, and so on. So to each his own. One is closer to the canteen. Give some silence to someone, and to whom everything would be new in the room. I knew buildings with a new renovation, but I was interested in other rooms with access to the pool, but there was no renovation there yet. I did not ask for a certain category of rooms, it so happened that we were immediately given the right room. In principle, everything worked, but the room was not new, but everything worked (somewhere the door handle remained in my hand, but that was a trifle). The room itself was spacious and, most importantly for me, with access to a heated pool where the children swam all the time and I could watch them without straining for myself and join them at any time.

Vacationed there last year. At first they gave a good number (in a bungalow), but it was sooooo far away, also on the mountain. So far, in the 45 degree heat, we went to see it, we were already terribly tired and realized that we would not be able to walk several times a day for a week every time. We agreed on the reception for $ 10 and they gave us another, much closer and more convenient, if I'm not mistaken 38 building.
If you go for advice about the rooms, then I would NOT recommend the main building, since there are mainly Arabs with their huge number of children and other relatives, you will live like in a gypsy camp.
