Is it worth it to go on remote excursions like Luxor and Cairo from Hurghada?
Or is it better to take a break from the hustle and bustle during this time? after all, the path is not close, in the heat, the vanity and values of antiquity have been turned into an object of sale. Of course, you want to see, but is it worth it? your opinion?

Of course it's worth it, but it's a bit tedious. Although you will go to Cairo at night, it is not hot, but for a long time. But feel the majesty of the pyramids with your own eyes)))

100% worth!!!
Last trip we were in Sharm and went to Cairo.
Yes, a lot of time for all sorts of "exclusive" papyrus, gold and perfume shops ...
But the museum, the pyramids ... it's something!
I liked the trip as a whole! For the first time, the norms :)
I also heard that it was tiring, but on an emotional upsurge somehow everything was easy for me :)
Yes, and we were in February, it was not hot at all, and in Cairo we were even wearing jackets and sweaters.
Soon we are going to Makadi and we will definitely go to Luxor! For this we are going to Makadi, otherwise we would have gone to our favorite hotel in Sharm and would not have bothered.
But Luxor, I think it's worth seeing!
Although everyone in the rest is looking for something of their own.
We love to combine a beach holiday with excursions, especially the Egyptian culture and history are very, very interesting :)
And someone has a beach and fish and nothing else is needed.
And someone pools and booze and rest was a success!:)

Definitely worth it. Especially if you are going to travel soon. There is no heat now, the buses were even asked to turn off the air conditioner.
And the impressions of historical places will overshadow all the fuss with shops :)))

If you like to combine the beach and excursions, then you should definitely go. Take a pillow and a jacket from the hotel with you on the bus. All long-distance excursions leave at night.
She traveled to Cairo from Sharm, from where she flew to Luxor. I did not regret the time and money spent - a lot of impressions!

Traveled from Hurghada to Luxor. If you want to go just because everyone is going and history doesn't interest you, then don't waste your time. Although with such an attitude it will be interesting there. We were at the end of April, it was very hot. Therefore, light trousers and a long-sleeved jacket are also a must! If a child is traveling with you, ask if it is possible to leave him on the bus while visiting the Valley of the Kings, because there is a hill around it, it is not blown by the wind and it is very, very stuffy and hot. Not worth it take a child with you to the tombs, nothing to breathe with, closed visits to not a single hole.

2svetlyachek - I want to go because it's interesting to touch the history, but it's the fact that everyone goes!

If you are worried that everyone is driving, then touch the history in Luxor, not in Cairo. More cultured somehow, or something. From Cairo, I personally had a shock - I did not expect such dirt and poverty. To take a picture of the pyramids themselves, you still need to run around looking for an angle without a garbage dump in the background. And the Cairo Museum is really very good, but they give catastrophically little time for it, all buses arrive at the same time, tourists go head to head, like in the subway at rush hour. But they spare no time for "museums" and "factories" of papyri, oils, alabasters and other garbage.

from Hurghada it is most convenient to go on the above excursions. At 3 or 5 in the morning they are taken by bus to Luxor. travel 5-6 hours. but to be in Egypt and not see the pyramids is nonsense. Yes, Cairo is dirt, poverty and wealth nearby. CAIRO is CAIRO. the Arab capital. the museum is interesting. pyramids and one and the second (which are on the left) .... there is even a special atmosphere there. before (when there were no charters) we went: Cairo 2-3 days, hurghada 12-13 days.

It is necessary to clarify a little: several roads lead to Cairo, and, unfortunately, the road does not lead to the pyramids through the most picturesque places. But if you ask a guide, then there is a chance that the bus will turn off the beaten track. roads and takes you to the expensive quarters of Cairo. There is luxury...

and they go to Luxor from Hurghada. From Sharm, mostly local airlines fly. Of course, it's worth a trip!" Both to Luxor and Cairo (Giza) - to the pyramids. True, do not be surprised if you suddenly find near the pyramids that they did not impress you as much as expected. :( All the same, the pyramids must be seen!

definitely worth it
especially Luxor!
very interesting and informative tour
busy, albeit exhausting
but you will definitely like it
Temple of Karnak, Temple of Hatshepsut
walk along the Nile, Valley of the Kings, Papyrus Museum, etc.

IMHO you can go from Hurghada to Luxor, although I personally was not particularly impressed. Yes, that's interesting, that's all. We were lucky with the guide Ahmed Radvan, a true professional, a very emotional and interesting person. To Cairo from Hurghada is too far. Once having been in Egypt, you will still want to return, and the next time, when after Hurghada you will probably go to Sharm, from there you will go to Cairo, it seems to me that the road will be closer and the journey will not be so tiring.

yes from the charm in short. because by plane, but also more expensive. or by ferry.

We were in Egypt three times and went to Luxor twice! It's just super, we were only a week ago and it's nice to realize that we learned a lot of new things (we got a very good guide). Now there is no more lawlessness on the roads that was 2-3 years ago, so that the trip is quite comfortable and not particularly tiring. Departure from Hurghada to Luxor at about 5-6 am and we returned back by 10 pm. So do not hesitate ahead!

I have been to Egypt many times. I went to Luxor from Hurghada and from Marsa Alam. I think the tour is the best in Egypt. We went by bus both times. I would never go to Cairo again. And do not flatter yourself about the pyramids. Luxor is a must visit.
