We want to go to Hurghada in mid-September. We chose 2 hotels that we liked - Albatros Dana Beach and Desert Rose. I understand they are +/- the same. Perhaps it isn't?

Elenka08, I agree with you there are very worthy Sunrise Crystal Bay, I have been in this hotel 12 times. But they saw the price tag on Crystal Bay, which means it's worth it.
People probably choose a hotel according to their financial capabilities.
There is a hotel Sinbad Aquapark, it's 4 * so the price for it is like 5 *, and a very decent hotel.
Everyone chooses according to their financial capabilities.
Once I chose a hotel in Makadi Sunrise Makadi, and went there with my 10 month old grandson. I was shocked when in the restaurant the birds (shit) on the table and on the head. and so everyone praises the hotel for small children.

Check out Sunrise or Garden or Mamluk. They have only one territory. Very worthy. And if the dessert is Rose or Dana, then definitely Dana

Last year I was in Crystal Bay, went with my grandson to the slides in the Garden, he became such a party on the beach every evening of the disco. I think it will be great for young people, not boring.

Birds fly visa-free. They will not be shot even for the sake of small children. You can eat inside. Makadi is a clean zone, any game is collected. It's good that some are disappointed because the hotel is always bursting, especially from mothers with children

Vacationed at Desert Rose in 2018, and returned from Dana Beach a week ago.
In short - there is no normal sea in any of these hotels (lagoons), the beach is definitely the best in Dana, but from the quarantine Dana (I compare my vacation with last year's reviews) on food disappointed. The area in Desert Rose is just gorgeous, green is an order of magnitude more compared to Dana.
Dana is definitely better for relaxing with children because of the beautiful beach and sunset, and the lagoon in Dana is almost like the sea, in Desert Rose - the lagoon is more separated from the sea.
