We were in Luxor. I don't remember the year 2007-2008. I would recommend that if you go to Egypt, in no case do not leave your resort town. It's a long way to go to Luxor. Now, due to the difficult military situation in the country, it is better to refrain from traveling. Back in 2007-2008, a string of buses drove us in a chain (up to about 10). There are police cars in front and behind, maybe not the police, but some kind of security. Look at the map, ask a search engine there, see how many km. We left the hotel at night around 23.00 - 00.00 approximately, and arrived in Luxor in the morning. But here it's not even km and distance. We took the tour at our hotel. There was a chain of buses, so they didn't go fast. Around the sands, the desert. When we asked why, we were traveling in a convoy and with security, we were told that this was for security purposes. Because they can attack and take hostages. Therefore, rest calmly in Hurghada or Sharm and don’t rock the boat!!! Yes, Luxor is cool! If you want, in a couple of days I will post a review about the hotel and post a photo of Luxor, take a look. But trust me, it's not worth the risk! Same with Aswan.. We really wanted to go there, and then at the last moment changed our minds.

When we arrived in Ukraine, after about 2 weeks, according to the news, we were shown in full how tourists were taken prisoner (foreigners, Germans, Italians) and demanded fabulous money. That's when my husband said to me, thank God that we did not pull there! Take care of yourself!!! And the Arabs and hotel guides do not care, the main thing is to rip off more money from you !!!!

Sorry, for the errors in the text I tried to answer you very quickly and there were so many of them.

Moreover, you read and were interested in the history of ancient Egypt. So Luxor and the Valley of the Kings - there are huge rocks and there are a lot of tombs in them (Tutankhamen, Ramses, ...). These are cursed places. I explain to enter and descend into the tomb then it is dangerous to health. In fact, we only went to the tomb of Tutankhamen. Nothing special. The drawings are all faded, the colors are not the same. But since the tomb is not deep (as if it does not lead deep into the earth), more or less we entered. But there is such a stench! And then they tried to enter gr. Ramses - impossible! They wrapped the nose and went down the tunnel many steps, but neither I nor my husband could enter, there was a big stench, it was getting bad. I couldn't even step into the tomb itself. So I’ll say that more than once I heard from my friends who, after visiting the tombs, began to have big health problems. I'm in the curse of the tombs. But I always thought that so many people come down and look, and that everyone then dies under different circumstances? Rave! Yes. ok, I'll tell you. I don’t know, but after visiting the tombs, a year has passed, I started having big health problems.. You can't even imagine. Now, if I turn back time, I would NEVER go to gr.

So my advice to you is, don't go there! According to legend, these are cursed places! And who will disturb this place... I'm even scared to write this word. Believe me, you will go down and say that's all? Wow, I was expecting more! Sorry for the mistakes, I typed quickly for you!

We arrived from Egypt in November (November 17th). We went to the direction of Luxor for an excursion to the Temple of Hathor. Everything was calm. The tour is VERY interesting and tireless (we were at the hotel for dinner) - I advise! I advise you to book excursions from your tour operator, even if you overpay, but safety is more expensive. And about all sorts of curses, don't believe it's all nonsense. Three years ago, they were in Luxor, and they descended into the tombs, and they were in the Valley of the Dead. Interesting and informative. Only before you go, it would not hurt yourself to arrange a small educational program (I say this as a historian), then everything will be clear and there will be no mess left in my head. And no excursions affect health if you lead the right way of life. Good luck!

So believe the historian! Only a historian poorly studied the history and civilization of Ancient Egypt and does not know that the tombs are cursed places! You look at the Arabs, only foreigners do not climb there for curiosity and stupid interest. But after visiting, there is nothing unusual there. Well, hieroglyphs, pictures that are depicted on papyri, and empty niches - holes in the stone where the tombs lay, that's all! And everything: sarcophagi, gold, furniture, ceramics, statues - all this is in the Cairo Museum. That's cool there! There you will see a lot. Although, I'll tell you that I couldn't walk around the museum for a long time - my throat began to tear terribly and a suffocating cough appeared. Although I'm not allergic! Everyone decides for himself, but then do not regret what you have done! Cursed tombs and it's a fact! The facts speak for themselves. Even those numerous scientists who participated in scientific excavations died one way or another - who from what (some had worsened health (diseases occurred), some died from an accident. Look, there are many documentaries about Egypt. I lead the right way of life and previously I had no big health problems! Therefore, do not write nonsense about lifestyle! Take care of yourself and don't regret it later!

Of course, climb into that stench, breathe in this centuries-old dust and decomposed ... harmful air! You become healthier. And there is no ventilation in the tombs and there is no draft either. Therefore, there are so many microparticles flying in the air and various microbes, since for a long time the tombs were clogged (as if all sorts of rubbish developed in a jar). Maybe some people are being influenced by the suggestion that gr. damn, and there is only poisonous air that a healthy person cannot breathe! That's all the math! So of course look, but there is nothing to admire. All Egyptian buildings conquer from the outside, this is the Cairo pyramids and Luxor. Doge in the valley of the kings conquers the rocks and the tombs drowned (hidden) in them and nothing more. So I wish you all a good holiday! And in the Cairo pyramids, you climb not to your full height, make your way through the tunnel and run into the wall. Hard to see, dark. Wow, how interesting!!! Of course I WISH everyone to visit and get their delight !!!

And you will remember about your health later approximately in the interval after 1 - 1.5.!!! Good luck everyone!!!

How much bile you have! Be kinder to people!

How much passion, but the question is simple, a person asks from whom it is reliable to go and what he will see. I can recommend Marwan Tours, director Ibrahim, you will find it on the net. Luxor for 60 but I think you will bargain and for 55 you will be taken. In Luxor you will see the temple of Karnak, the Ears of Memnos, the Temple of Hatchepsutra, the valley of kings and queens with tombs, and they will put it on a banana island.
There will be questions write.

Nancy, what are you talking about?? Sorry, autumn for exacerbations is over
Do not think about leaving for Luxor at 23.00. They even leave for Cairo at 01.00. At 04.00 or at 5.00 they pick you up from the hotel, late in the evening you

You yourself are nonsense!

Read carefully, I wrote the word "about" 23.00-00.00. Send you with your exacerbations to a banana!

Well, you are an inattentive person! Don't answer me on the Luxor question. This info doesn't interest me! Answer the person who asked the question. I just wrote how we got to Luxor! You understand! All the best! Good luck!

I can't get past. Truth. I join in the comments about the time of departure to Luxor. Both now and 5 years ago the check out time was ALWAYS around 4-5am depending on the location of the hotel. I will not comment on the stories about curses, well, probably, if only because I am a walking confirmation of the failure of your theory. Being in a supposedly cursed place hundreds of times and many years will hurt. With regards to"just pictures " on the walls....there is no comment at all.

Answering the author's question. Of course you must go. How successful your trip is to a large extent depends on the guide accompanying the group. Transportation is now the same in terms of service level as for official TO, that for street or agencies on the Internet, often the organizers of excursions provide their services for both TO and agencies.
