I flew with my son to Luxor from Sharm. however, I also flew to Cairo from Sharm, and did not go by bus. not because there is too much money. it was just the way things were. but the result is worth it! the flight from Sharm (both to Cairo and Luxor) is very short. the group is usually very small (4-8 people). and it's great! you are not dragged into these vulgar obligatory shops (if someone really wants to, they will take you). you are fresh, not tired from the road, there are few of you, the guide is entirely yours. (both times I got excellent guides, the best, as it turned out later). In Cairo, they also dined on a boat on the Nile. we arrived satisfied, not at all tired .... and my friends after the bus departed for two days (the young lady on the bus had very swollen legs). you decide. but you won't regret the money spent on an air tour to Luxor or Cairo!
