Help me choose a hotel (The most banal question).
Good afternoon to all who know. Help me choose a hotel. I've been looking at these hotels:
1) Continental Garden Reef Resort 5*,
2) Grand Rotana Resort & Spa 5*,
3) Concorde El Salam Front 5*,
4)Sultan Gardens Resort 5*,
5)Sunrise Select Island View Resort 5*
The main selection criteria for me is the Sharks Bay area. The reason is short pontoons, cool reef, not far from civilization.
If I'm wrong, tell me something else. Savoy like but too expensive for me-)). There are many and varied reviews.

in Sharks Bay there is a Savita hotel from Intourist, which was more affordable. Look.
аватар aisha_sharm
Of the ones you listed, I like Sunrise, Sultana.
аватар Exinya
Rotana is also not cheap, but a quality hotel. She was going there, but plans changed.
аватар Karina-Mango
Of these, of course, Grand Rotana!!!! Can Savita
аватар Maxmax
What is the correct spelling of Savita?
I can't find it.
аватар Kitsune
You probably cannot find this hotel Savita Resort and Spa?
аватар Kitsune
And of the above, then I am FOR Sultan Gardens

CONTINENTAL GARDEN REEF RESORT just returned, I liked it, VERY BEAUTIFUL CORAL REEF!
аватар Zlata28
from the hotels you listed
I would choose either Concorde or Sunrise
аватар Maxmax
AngelinaDonec - tell me how much you rate the hotel on a 10-point scale. Are the rooms very shabby? And what about food? And not a modest question, but how much did it cost you?
аватар outlander
I am also for Sunrise or Sultan ... I was both there and there at different times, food is better in Sultan, reef, infrastructure and proximity to Soho are better in Sunrise ... I would choose Sunrise ... Concord-small (narrow and long, only one pontoon, slides only on Sport, "ultra" - no)! I haven't been to the Continental and Grand Rotana, I don't know ...
аватар outlander
Yes, and in Grand Rotana there is no "all inclusive", and in the Continental over the past three months, a bunch of negative reviews (there seems to have changed the owner, so it got worse ...). But anyway, the choice is yours!

Maxmax, listen to the advice of Karina Mango and Aisha 2010, I have known them for a long time (and they me too), they are residents of Egyptian (or joint with Egyptians (for their husbands)) travel agencies, everyone knows about Sharm and hotels, they also know a couple of excursions will be advised (if they didn’t “throw off” their coordinates in Sharm in your “PM”, then they will “throw them off”) ... Good girls ...
аватар Maxmax
I read in the reviews that the Sultan has a bad reef. We will take excursions. You see, I like to dive, even though I don’t have a certificate. I want a good reef, short pantone. And I love sports, such as volleyball, etc. Yes, and I want civilization to be. Maybe I want a lot. Was previously in Egypt. For a birthday at Foseasons. and To friends in Savoy went. Two hotels I really liked but not my budget.
The area is desirable and the reef is approximately.
аватар outlander
Well then, definitely Sunrise or Concord ... (if the reef is so interested)
аватар AngelinaDonec
Maxmax, if you evaluate the continental garden, then by 7, the rooms are average, clean, they were cleaned every day so that they were shabby, I can say the bath was not very good, but you need a shower, so they didn’t particularly find fault, but it cost us 9 nights and 10 days for two $ 1680, food is normal, soups, beef meat, chicken, vegetables, fresh, grilled, a lot of sweets, grilled dinner, there were crabs, squids, we had enough!
аватар Maxmax
Something from the latest about Continental Garden Reef Resort 5 * a lot of bad reviews. (kind of weird).
And Savita read a lot of negativity.
Sultan is good but they write a bad reef there. Sunrise Select Island View Resort 5 * also has a lot of negativity lately.
At the moment, more preference remains for Concorde El Salam Front 5 and Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort & Spa 5 *.
аватар AngelinaDonec
Of course, it's up to you to decide, I also read bad reviews before leaving, you know the impression that these are some kind of competitors pouring dirt, and when they arrived it turned out to be half of the LIE! And also the price of the hotel .... if we were in STELLA in May (not far from the Continental) we paid $2,300 for 7 nights, and $1,600 for the Continent for 9 nights, you know, what's the difference, so draw your own conclusions. Good luck!
аватар outlander
Well, we in Sunrise 10 months ago for 10 nights (2 + 1) gave 2700 USD. Two years ago, under similar conditions, the Sultan cost 1950 USD. This is not an indicator ... Initially, you need to know that October-November in Egypt is the peak of the season and, accordingly, the maximum prices for holidays in the year ... Just when I met two married couples from Ukraine from Concorde and Savoy and were visiting each other, I can say one thing: Savoy is certainly better, but not for that kind of money ( this couple paid 4 thousand USD without children for 10 days!), Concorde is smaller and less green, no slides and ultras, only two (or three) pools and much fewer bars and rooms - smaller than in Sunrise, but with newer furniture and plumbing ... Reef (I myself dive and swam from the Savoy Reef to Baronovsky) - there is a richer reef, ideally in the area of u200bu200bMeliya Sinai and Sharma ... It was in that area that shark attacks occurred in December 2010 ...You choose!

outlander - UL is not interested in maximum AL I don't drink at all, my wife almost doesn't need it either, and parents don't need ultra either. I also dive myself, albeit without a certificate. I already have over 30 hours of diving. I also dived to 21 meters. I dived in Savoy (came to friends).
outlander - you were in Sunrise. Something there has been so many bad reviews lately, such as dirty and everything is very shabby. And something was written by one stupid person that he was on line 2, but it seems like he is going to the end.
аватар outlander
Maxmax, I also don’t drink (for 4 years already), like my wife, although once or twice during the entire tour you can drink “mojito” or “margarita” on the day of arrival and departure. . . And sometimes even nice. . . "Ultra" is not only imported alcohol: it is also a free trial scuba dive at the "house" reef, packaged juices, free ice cream and visits to a la carte restaurants, one haircut and one spa treatment per person, for free daily water and soft drinks in the minibar in the room. . . We liked Irina and Volodya (from Concorde) more. . . And do not spare money at the reception at the settlement. . . In Sunrise itself, there are 3 types of "standard" rooms (maybe more). . . We were settled in rooms of the 600 (635), 100-500-smaller and "kill" series (mostly "ours" are accommodated there, they are near the main restaurant and lobby), but there are also the cherished "700s" rooms (large and with a new plumbing) and suites. . . We gave 20 "Baku", and the family from Urengoy for 50 received the series number 700. . . I was in Dahab and dived 28 meters. .. This is also not an indication. . . On your own or even with an instructor to depths of more than 6 meters, no one will let you in the Red Sea without a PADI certificate or at least OWC! I got mine 3 years ago from the OK dive center in Dahab for 400 USD. e. . Good luck!

As for the numbers of Savoy and Sunrise. . . The one in which I was in Savoy, smaller in area, further from the sea and with the same "tired" furniture and plumbing. . The territory itself, the bars, the "reception" and the lobby in Savoy, of course, are richer, the palm trees are bigger and greener, the beach is one and a half times larger than Sunrise and 3 times larger than Concord (they constantly went there "bucks" for smaller ones and for their "tugriks" ,because in Savoy there is a currency exchange in the bank)). . . Sunrise also has a second line across the street from Sunrise's first line. And already a 5* hotel. . . But it costs an order of magnitude less (we had a price difference of 500 USD for three ... A similar situation with Concords: the Front is near the sea, and Sport is opposite the Sunrise 5 * of the second line along the same street. . . And since you were allowed into Fozizons or friends who can organize and afford THERE! a birthday celebration!, so the road is straight for you there ... For example, they didn’t even let us in there. .. There, probably, the rooms are large, and the plumbing is new, and it is not dirty. . . In general, to be honest, I am still amazed at the "requests" of "our" compatriots. . . Only they manage to "resent" the conditions of five-star hotels in Egypt while living in miserable "huts" in Ukraine. .
аватар outlander
I have traveled almost all of Europe, been to New Zealand and the USA, Mexico, Somalia and South Africa. . . Yes, the local hotels of a 5-star price category are an order of magnitude higher than those in Egypt. . . But people go to Egypt not for the "chic" of coastal hotels and hotels, but for the Red Sea and its richest! underwater world. . . Having completed a complete "European-style renovation" in my apartment a day ago, I now also probably have the right to criticize the living conditions in the hotels there. . . But I don’t think that there are many tourists on this site who compare the repair of an apartment with the approximate cost of a new Japanese jeep with the “wretched”, in their opinion, living conditions in the Egyptian “fives”. . . I have been on this site for a long time under different names, and I have already got used to the constant "whining about dirty and miserable Egyptian" fives "from" our "compatriots. . . I would, even having an amount of 10-12 thousand "not at all rubles", would regret spending them on a week-long vacation in the Four Seasons. . . There is something better to spend them on. .. And it’s not so easy for me to get that kind of money to spend in a hotel in a week with my family. . . In general, for its price category it is better not to find Sunrise Island View in Sharm. . . It's my personal opinion. . .

outlander - stay at a birthday party in 4 seasons (just a rich man and he paid for his jam day). I wrote earlier that this is not my budget.
So still, would you advise Sunrise or Concorde, just be friendly and don't forget to leave funds in your passport? And do not tell me there and there as with volleyball? whether they play or just have playgrounds. And nutrition, I understand that it is individual, but still, what can you say about it.
аватар outlander
There are two volleyball courts in Sunrise (one on the beach, one by the pool), I didn’t see it in Concord (maybe it was) ... Food is like everywhere else in Egypt, worse than in Sultan Gardens, but better than in Sunrise 5 * from "Khurgadinsk" ... A large selection of sweets, seafood twice a week, a decent Italian restaurant "a la carte", with meat, not very (well, like everywhere in Egypt: soy sausage and sausages, beef, chicken , lamb, turkey or ducks in the grill bar), decent high adult and children's slides, 5 pools ... Yes, and the price of Concorde is not much less for Sunrise (within 100-200 dollars for three, it was the same that year) ...
аватар outlander
They played volleyball every day, by an international team, I didn’t play, snorkeled and went scuba diving, played tennis once (in the afternoon it’s free, but you can’t stand it for more than an hour even in October-November: HEAT! In the evening with lighting -30 USD per hour per person).
аватар Maxmax
Well, I'm probably already drawing something for myself. Yes, I read that the food in Sunrise and Concord is not very good. And the Sultan is much better in this regard, but the reef of the Sultan and Sunrise and Concord is much poorer.
And how is it really with the sound from the planes? How much is lunch or dinner at a la carte? And are they worth using?
аватар outlander
In Italian: 1 time a week for free for the whole family (but only by appointment) ... It makes no sense to go anymore (the same pasta, ravioli are in the main restaurant every day). In Egyptian: at least go every day for free (but also only by appointment). But the Egyptian, for lunch and breakfast, works like a regular restaurant, only dinners, by appointment ... It has only one plus, fresh air (located on the coast). The range of dishes is the same as in the main restaurant , nothing new ... In Italian, too, only dinners (it only opens at 6 pm) .... And the sound from the planes is heard everywhere in Sharm, on the second day you just stop noticing ... Except in the bay You can’t hear it (far from the airport) ... Only there is not the same sea (waves, current and wind). You don’t buy with children ....
аватар outlander
In terms of budget, among the hotels you listed, the Grand Rotana and Sultan are considered the most expensive and prestigious (but there is no reef there) ... Sunrise and Concorde are the golden "middle", and the Continental is already a completely budget hotel ...
аватар Maxmax
Do you know something about Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort & Spa 5. Its rating is 8.3 and the food seems to be normal and the name of the reef type (like the reef should be good -)).
And you wrote that on the site under different names, why?
