Who rested with a child up to a year, tell me, please)
For my husband and I, Egypt is our home, we have been many times, but for the first time we want to fly with a child. There are many questions, but the ones that concern me the most are:
- How is it with baby food? Do you take all sorts of purees with you or can you buy the same manufacturers there as with us? (in Hadaba or in the old city, or where?). And how is the quality?
- in the rooms, what kind of bed is given for small ones - regular, wooden, with bars?
- Well, diapers, you can probably buy at any pharmacy?
If you have any other advice, I'd be grateful
At the time of the trip, the child will be approximately 10 months old.

Sorry, of course. Well, if Egypt is your home, why ask these questions?!

Now there are many hotels that have a microwave, washing machine, blender, baby diet food, etc.
We rested in Sharm from the age of 1, I can’t tell you about other cities. There are many shops and pharmacies in Sharm, both near the hotels and in the markets (in Naama + in the Old Market). There are also METRO supermarkets. In all these places you can buy certain brands of food, baby water, diapers (namely, diapers), etc. The cost is higher than in Kyiv. We took haggis with us for the first 3-5 days, and bought more on the spot. But there is a minus - an allergy can begin.
I took the mixture with me, a stroller, too. When checking in luggage on a stroller (ours is up to 7 kg), we hung a tag, as on all hand luggage, and already before the gangway they took it from us, upon arrival it was unloaded there.
Cribs are both wooden and cribs. We did not take, but we saw different ones in different hotels. It is more convenient for us to put the baby to sleep among ourselves on the bed. During the day I slept in a stroller in the air or on a couch (but always in the shade).

Approach with special care to the first-aid kit that you take with you. In Sharm you will not find our medicines. Let them not be useful to you, but you will be calm.
+ mosquito and midge repellents by age
+ cream with SPF 50 or SPF 80 protection. We took Chikkovsky cream and Chikkovsky pieces from mosquitoes and "after mosquito bites", fumigotor and baby liquid for him.
On any forum for moms, you can easily find ready-made lists of "What to take with you to the sea", "How to entertain on the plane", "First aid kit at sea", etc.

The insurance that is included in the tour does not cover almost anything. We always buy extended travel insurance for the baby. It costs about 25-30 UAH. Ask to be immediately explained your actions step by step. Where to call if an insured event occurs, which doctor will come. Many people make a mistake - they take extended insurance, the patient is under the arm and go to the hotel doctor, who sends them far and expensive)
We use insurance PZU Ukraine. Very pleased.
Have a nice and easy flight, rest for you and your baby! Open new countries for him now and then it will be easy for you to relax with him always and everywhere.

pivchik_86, There are purees and mixtures, there are also different ones, there is no hagis, so if you are on hagis, then take it with you for the first time, but there are other diapers, in a pharmacy in El Mercato called El Azabi you will find all this + in Metro + in Carrefour. I don’t know about cribs in Sharm, in Hurghada at the hotel on vacation we had a wooden crib.

We rested in Sharm with a 9 month old son. We insured separately, diapers, we took all the food with us (it’s calmer). Sunblock is also Chikovskoe (it is from 1 year old), a fumigator. Our stroller went all the way to the side of the plane. The bed was wooden in the room (similar to home), during the day we slept mostly on a sunbed on the beach. I recommend taking more T-shirts so that the hangers are covered. You liked your vacation and we wish you!

Keshka29, Egypt - my home, I know everything, but about adults. I'm going with a child for the FIRST TIME. I never paid attention to baby food in supermarkets, etc. That's why I'm asking. I'm not asking about the climate or something like that ...

Viltis, we want to go in October

Thank you all! Of course, I'll take everything with me to the maximum, and purees and diapers (we use Japanese Moony), just suddenly for some reason something will end, well, you never know ... That's why I'm asking. Thank you very much for suggesting extended insurance, I did not think about this. I’ll definitely find out) and for the stroller, which means you shouldn’t worry ... but which stroller is better to take? a light cane, or can it be full-sized (it is still more convenient for a child)?

Take a stroller so that the child can sleep there in case of emergency. You can't really sleep in a cane. Our baby slept peacefully at the airport. Drop it off near the gangway and pick it up there upon arrival, it will not be added to your luggage, and there are more chances that it will not be damaged.

Insurance is called "for traveling abroad." Specify the coverage (what includes). AND STEP-BY-STEP where to call and what to do if an insured event suddenly occurs (illness, accident, etc.) Believe me, this is important.
On the stroller - from the age of 7 months we took the child on a "walk" to the sea. Her back folded to "almost lying down", the child slept in it during the day, or on a sunbed in the shade (fenced so as not to fall).
IMHO, you don't need a big stroller at sea. It is inconvenient to move with it, it is heavy. Moreover, talk to the travel agency and ask if there is a weight limit. You do not check in the stroller as baggage, you carry it in your hand luggage (you use it up to the gangway), but the weight may be limited. We flew with UIA, VizeAir, Aerosvit and Windrose. From experience, each carrier has its own rules of transportation. Better clarify.
