The choice fell on Sharm solely because of the weather in winter (there seems to be warmer than in Hurghada). And I would like a regular entry into the sea, i.e. not only from panton and that the beach is not far from the hotel, preferably a large area, and the rest is not very important :)

was on New Year's Eve in Sharm and Cairo, about 5 years ago. It was very fresh, it was definitely cold to swim, you can lie on the beach, but the wind is very strong and cold. 20 degrees felt like our 15. By the way, local ladies put on fur coats in the evening. Compared to our -30 in winter, Sharm is certainly a paradise!

Celebrated NY in Sierra (Soho) 2010-2011. A pile of Christmas trees, Santa Claus, Reindeer and Snowmen (all, of course, scenery) in the middle of the Egyptian heat is a rather eerie sight. The gala dinner did not please us, we are used to a slightly different celebration. And the weather was not particularly pampered (there was a windy season). If anyone can enjoy such a celebration, then either the most unassuming, or the Europeans. You should not go to Egypt for NG, IMHO.
