We traveled from Taba for 2 days to Israel, then overnight in Akkaba and Petra. All liked it. Everyone got to see. Yes, and hotels in Jordan, to put it mildly, are more expensive.

It is better to go to Petra for 2 days, you will see a lot more, and you can calmly walk until late and the sunset there is awesome. (for an additional fee they are allowed). Even in Jordan, after all, not only Petra, Mount Nebo, where the prophet Moses died, the Wadi Rum desert, where the multi-colored sands. I advise you to go to Jordan. I traveled from Sharm, very tiring, first by car, then by ferry, then by bus. When we arrived in Petra, we were already tired. Have a nice rest!

We went from Sharm to Petra for 210 d.s. per person last November through http://redsea-travel.ru/. The trip as a whole takes 20-22 hours, in Petra itself there were 4 hours - not enough and hard, but we liked it , no regrets!

Yes, Slav1, almost everything is true, but still I disagree about the Dead Sea - in Israel it is much better ... and even saltier. We were both there and there - in Jordan we sat in the water for 40 minutes - and nothing, (there weren’t even salt crystals, the bottom was like a stove), and in Israel after 10 minutes everything pinched and the whole group was sent to the shower ...

We were in Jordan for 10 days in 2013 and we didn't have enough, so to each his own. My opinion - if you want to see everything without haste - then you need to go directly :)

Was in 2013 with an excursion from Eilat. Not very expensive. But you won’t be able to see all of Petra even in two days. Very large area, if you move only on foot. We took donkeys and galloped along the Petrotropes. I advise, speeds up the review process and makes it not so tedious. Our bus guide also led this "cavalry" brigade behind him. It's funny, almost like in a Gaidai film. I never thought that frail-looking donkeys would turn out to be such frostbitten SUVs. At least we saw and visited 10 times more places in Petra than our infantry lagged behind in the heat and dust. And they got out of the canyon in a completely different place, burying such a beautiful Jordanian legend about the siege of Petra by the Roman legion with supposedly the only entrance to the city through a narrow gorge. In general, you will see for yourself. And Jordan is not cheap, judging by the prices in Aqaba ...
