please advise what excursions can be visited in Greece from Paul Kassandra
Three weeks trip. Would love to see more. It is desirable to share the experience of personal "movement" to the sights.

Only in Thessaloniki, the rest is quite far away. If you are energetic and active, then - Meteora. In general, rent a car and drive along all three "fingers" of the Halkilkiki Peninsula.

at the reception of the Potidea Palace Hotel there is a representative of the car rental office. Take a driver's license and for 55 euros you can rent a car, drive it to Sithonia. Be sure to visit the city of Neos Marmaras, it is beautiful there, even the village. or the town of Nikiti, very clean beaches. We also went to Porto Caras, swam on a private beach, having agreed with the Greek, they let us in without any problems, everyone is very friendly. Friends took an excursion to Meteora, they were tired of course, because at 5 am the departure, but according to them and judging by the photo, it was worth it. Another familiar couple went to Thessaloniki for shopping. They say there is nothing to do there. If you only take a tour of this city, then you might like it. Our compatriot advised not to go there by car, she now lives in Greece near Thessaloniki. There is crazy traffic, the streets are narrow, so driving is dangerous. Even on Sithonia there are a lot of wild beaches, where on both sides of the mountain and there are practically no people, you can retire and enjoy the beautiful nature. Vourvourou beach is also very beautiful, from a height it is generally breathtaking from what you see. We slowly drove around Sithonia, first on one side, then on the other. The sea and nature are magnificent. You will not regret.

We went to the city of Agios Nikolaos. It is interesting to look from the point of view of the life of ordinary Greeks. The town is pretty, the houses look like toys. Be sure to visit the beach "Heaven". The descent to it is near the road, there is also a cafe of the same name. Nearby is an observation deck. It is possible to make beautiful shots with a view of the turquoise sea. Usually, there are places on the side of the roads where you can stop and enjoy the beauty of Sithonia. There are few tourists in the cities that we visited in Sithonia, so the beaches are free, and the water there is crystal clear. You can safely swim and sunbathe. Also take a boat trip around St. Athos, if you like boat trips, because You will admire Mount Athos only from a distance of 500 meters from the coast, you cannot swim closer. You will have enough time, in 3 weeks you can travel around Sithonia, and to Meteora and Thessaloniki for an excursion. Have a good rest!

Do you eat alone or as a family?
You can get to Thessaloniki by bus.
On the mainland is hard, but by car you can.
Waterfalls, Loutraki - thermal springs, Kastoria, Meteora, the road through Olympus.
Take a closer ride around Halkidiki itself, there are also thermal baths somewhere (I don’t remember).
In general, eat on any road, as soon as you see a brown sign - another attraction. There will be a spontaneous trip and you will see something of your own :)

even from Chalkidiki there are good cruises as part of the day with the capture of the port of Sithonia, lunch there with seafood, of course, we swim in the bays and bypass Athos. I went a year ago, I forgot the name of the host (Labyrinth), which offers this.

the hotel itself is not in the village, we rested 2 years ago through the hotel from Kassandra, rented a car from our guide, but then we saw that there are so many agencies in the village of Polychrono, and it’s cheaper there. at the agency I mark on the map what you should see, we were in Meteora, in Thessaloniki (yes, it was hard to park there, we left the car in somewhere in the center and then on foot with a map), we went shopping in Thessaloniki in the shopping center space (our Kyiv caravan , but still bought something), went for a fur coat to the town of Katerini Paralia (it turned out to be far to the factories, we were tired after the meteor and didn’t want to go further), and we also looked at a lot of towns and villages on Kassandra and Sithonia, the hometown Aristotle, and were very pleased. they took the car because it was a long walk to the village, and so they combined business with pleasure. have a good rest

Hello Sandra! I can recommend all excursions except the fur factory. But, if you are traveling with children, then keep in mind that all excursions are long and take place in the morning, in the first half of the day, i.e. into the hell. It was unbearable for us adults, even with their comfortable buses. Very exhausting, and interest disappears, although there is certainly something to see and listen to. If you tolerate the heat easily, then you will like everything.
The price is not cheap for all excursions, it is always the case with hotels.
Regarding fur coats: they bring them to the factory "for a considerable share", therefore, if you need a fur coat, then in the neighboring village, there are many fur coat shops, from simple to elite ones. You can safely choose, try on a lot, the Greeks are very patient in this regard, they will serve you to the last, even if you don’t buy anything. Everyone speaks Russian. And the coats are good.
I can also recommend renting a car and driving around the entire peninsula. The coast is big and beautiful.
In Thessaloniki, in my opinion, there is nothing to do. Nothing surprised, neither architecture nor goods.
It is quite interesting to walk in the evening, in the coolness, through their villages, there after 20 hours life begins, you plunge into a completely different world. Have a good rest!

Thank you all very much for your advice. I would like to visit Athens and Mount Olympus. Or on the island of Crete. How can I do that. Are there tours or by car?
аватар sigur62
From Kassandra to Athens - only for two or three days, you can’t do it in one day, it’s hard and dreary. It is necessary to book an overnight stay at a hotel in Athens, then you can see the city and not die on the road. But such long journeys are unreasonable for another reason - economic. You will be paid for a few days in a hotel in Kassandra, and at the same time you will pay for a hotel in Athens, and nothing will be returned to you during your absence from the hotel in Kassandra, not accepted. Therefore, postpone the trip to Athens, go there another time, and not from the Halkidiki peninsula, but from somewhere closer. Have a nice rest!

I support sigur62. And it is also better to go to Crete separately another time. There, as elsewhere, there are many special and beautiful places.

Regarding the trip to Athens, I completely agree with the previous authors. This is a completely different story, and you will be offered an excursion to Mount Olympus from Kassandra, I described this above.

We are going to Porto Caras. Does the bus to Thessaloniki often run a bus and how much does it cost? Tell.
аватар Solea
oh, didn't you find anything closer? :) take a bus for a couple of hours to cut in one direction :( In this option, either by car or take an excursion there. Ideally, you need to walk around Thessaloniki on your own.
I remember the winery on the Karras estate...
