Jordan as an alternative to Egypt.
Egypt somehow already fed up. I would like to diversify the winter vacation a little. Thanks to one of the Ukrainian operators, this can be done for little money. Also the Red Sea, the same climate. It seems ... Or are there pitfalls in Jordan?

There are pitfalls. There are even reefs. And quite interesting, with fish;)
But seriously, Jordan is a little different from Egypt in terms of the sea (this is the Gulf of Aqaba, the water is warmer there, there are fewer characteristic dangers) and radically different in terms of service. There is practically no ALL here, very quiet and calm. An extremely rich excursion. Don't go to Jordan if you want to "hang out" with sprit and loud fun. But if you are interested in the sea, diving (snorkeling), excursions to historical sites, very beautiful deserts and nature reserves - this is the right place for you. In addition, this is the eastern part of the Holy Land, there are many shrines. In addition, there are no Egyptian dirt and beggars. In addition, PETRA - one of the seven wonders of the world - is like the Eiffel Tower, a must see. Well, in general, I go there regularly and with great pleasure!
Have a good travel! :)

We really liked Jordan, we want to go back there again. From the "stones" I can note that the beaches are municipal, only expensive hotels have their own. And on municipal beaches, you need to follow the traditions of the country. For men there is no difference, but for women it is better to be in closed clothes. Even if the beach is at the hotel, there are still those who complain to the staff about very open swimwear. Everyone walks around the city as they like, no one points fingers at shorts and T-shirts. I also really liked the excursions to the Dead Sea, to Petra, to the desert. We met a Ukrainian woman in Aqaba, who has been living there for a long time and next time we plan to go to her apartments, there are pools and their own access to the sea.

Holiday features in Jordan:
- the price is higher than in Egypt;
- in this period, mostly Russian-speaking audience;
- the temperature in winter is cooler than Sharm;
- outside the hotel, the public looks askance at bare-shouldered blondes;
- an excursion to Petra is interesting, but the red desert is more beautiful in March, when irises bloom.

What do you think about the fact that in August 200 tons of oil spilled in the Aqaba area? We were going to fly here on Saturday now the prices have dropped to $ 299 per person for 8 days. Maybe that's why they fell?

Prices dropped due to new charter flight! Until now, there were only regular ones. Nobody heard about the oil spill in Jordan! Complete nonsense!!!

Yes, the point is not oil, but the fact that Saudi Arabia is nearby .... For the same reason, flights to other countries are also closed (Tunisia, Djerba - for example) ....

Nusia, and here I did not understand anything .... What does it mean: "for the same reason"?

Due to the fact that Saudi Arabia is nearby - and anything can be expected from them ... (as they explained to me in the travel agency).

A very strange answer ... Is it calmer in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Vietnam?)))) There has been a war in Morocco for decades - prices for space tours (and, by the way, Libya "over the fence")
Jordan is a very country specific for tourists who, apart from All in Egypt and Turkey, have not seen it, you need to understand how to sell it. This country is for travelers and pilgrims, not for beachgoers. The hotel service is of a completely different direction, but you can move around the country without problems, calmly and safely. There are an incredible number of interesting places that you can explore on your own! And I won’t even talk about groups with decent excursion services - all tourists are delighted (I’m not talking about day trips from Egypt and Israel now, but about a full-fledged tour). But our tour offices simply do not know how or do not want to do it! They aim to sell the charter and hotel with insurance and transfer and that's it! And on the spot, let tourists look for entertainment if they want. With regard to Jordan, this is not correct!

You see, TatianaZS - you yourself gave a detailed answer to the author of the question - Jordan cannot be an alternative to Egypt ... This is a completely different vacation ...))

Who will tell you the prices for excursions in dollars for 1 person from Aqaba to Petra, the Dead Sea and the Wadi Rum desert?
