Can we hope for a calm ocean or is it unpredictable? :-)
We are going to the hotel on the 20th of November. I am traveling with my husband and our 3 year old daughter. I am interested in the weather at this time, whether there are big waves in the ocean in November. Is this hotel child friendly? What should you definitely pay attention to before traveling to Sri Lanka with a child? We also decide on nutrition, choose between breakfast and breakfast-dinner. Is it possible to eat non-spicy (for a child) food in the vicinity of the hotel. Thanks a lot for the replies.

A year ago, the ocean was more often restless, adults and a 10-year-old daughter liked it, as it was fun. Not sure for a 3 year old. When we rode, swam in Halle, the ocean was calmer there, and even more so in the bay. The breakfasts at the hotel were average, there were at least 5 cafes outside the territory at once, you can choose a lot of things, ours ate mostly fries and chicken.

We rested there from 13 to 27 November. The ocean was always wavy, of course, you can’t enter it with a child, besides, the specificity of the ocean is that it draws in, and does not push it ashore like the sea. It is very difficult for an adult to stand on his feet. The hotel itself is very good, a very large green area, there is a playground with slides for children. In general, quite a lot of people rested with children, they themselves were surprised, with such a long flight .... I liked everything very much about food: we took only breakfast, because. I wanted to try all kinds of seafood. But the breakfasts there are very diverse (pasta, potatoes, rice, meat, scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs are prepared right in front of you, a variety of buns and a lot of all sorts of vegetables and fruits). Outside the hotel there are many restaurants, cafes, of course we can’t call them that)))) it was immediately a little dumb to eat there, but everything is cooked there very tasty. For a child, you can probably order only french fries, rice and chicken in them, everything else is seafood.

Take nuts and seeds with you, the child will feed the squirrels, they are tame and there are a lot of them. As for swimming, I would be careful with a small child, a very strong outflow current.

Excellent food, especially for children, in Unawatuna in the Provence mini-hotel. We are currently resting in it. European cuisine, cooked by the owners themselves, and they are Russians. Everything is very tasty and very clean. On the recommendation of our friends, we booked accommodation in Provence also for the reason that spicy food and soups from cubes with all sorts of flavor enhancers are unacceptable for us and starch...

Sorry, at first I didn’t notice that you were going to Kalutara. In general, it’s better with children, after all, to Unawatuna. Here the reef strip closes from the waves, swimming is a pleasure.

Thank you all for your answers :-) Be sure to use all the tips. More questions: 1). I understand that swimming in the ocean with a child will not be a safe pleasure, then the question arises about the pools, what are they like in this hotel? And how comfortable are the kids? 2) if there are nearby and tireless excursions in the nearby areas of Sri Lanka, so that again it would be interesting for both adults and children. 3) I would like to try spa treatments and massages. Is it better to do it in the hotel or outside? Once again, many thanks to all. Waiting for answers :-)

The pools are ok. There are essentially two hotels, in the 4-ke there is a smaller pool, in the 5-ke there is more. Interesting excursion to the lake by boat. There is a temple on an island with squirrels that can be fed with bananas and a cinnamon factory on another island, showing how it is mined. Beautiful, the lake is called Madaggnna.

Thank you. We are just deciding between this 4th tangerine and the 5th, which is a royal palm :-) the issue price is about $ 500, but still we think it makes sense to overpay? Advise good people :-)

Tourists living in 4 * can use the entire infrastructure of a 5 * hotel. So it's up to you. They have one large territory without fences

We walked along the 5-ke, it is more pretentious inside, but it did not seem to us that it was worth overpaying for it. 4 suits us just fine

Thank you. Probably, it’s really better to spend this money on other pleasures of Sri Lanka :-) We take 4-ku! :-)

We also rested in 4-ke. Didn't regret it at all. The area is really shared. And excursions were taken from Lashan. Still under the impression. Go to his page - you will see everything yourself. Here are his coordinates Jlashan-Chinthaka-De-Silva Jamuni in contact. Massage was done both at the hotel and in Paradis (local restaurant). The restaurant is cheaper and cooler ... If you have any questions - ask - I will answer. I wish you a pleasant stay. We're going back for more
