Can I book a double room, provided there is a resident with me
I plan to rest in Morocco, provided that my young man, who is a resident of Morocco, will live with me in the room. Is it possible?

That is unlikely! According to the laws of Morocco, either spouses or blood relatives can live in the same room. However, I do not know how about 5 * luxury hotels. I advise you to take two singles. Then definitely no problem.

Local laws may prohibit unmarried couples from staying in the same room. Guests are required to provide a marriage certificate upon request by the hotel staff. Couples must present proof of marriage to share a room.

100% not possible!!! I was specifically interested because I was in an idiotic situation. I had to pack my suitcase, and since it had to be lifted and thrown a couple of times, I asked the guide (marr. man) to come up to my room. A man from the reception came with him and, with the door wide open, watched us as we suffered with this suitcase. At some point, he got me so much that I tried to close the door with my foot. To which he said that this is not possible - this is his job. What's the job of looking after a client? said that he was obliged, because in the room - a Moroccan. Guards my honor!!! That's when I clarified the issue. The guide understood my surprise and explained that it was all right here. Even if people have the same last name (and in Morocco, wives do not change to the husband's last name), then you need to provide a certificate. about marriage, otherwise the arrest threatens both the couple and the hoteliers. But for dates, singles are simply booked. . . And God forbid if the neighbors complain about the sounds or notice that there are two people in the room. . . then again - arrest! But if these are 2 foreigners - no one climbs! The most striking thing is that there is no solution to the problem for money. Or is it a strong religion or a frightening punishment and harsh laws!

We were in Morocco in November 2012 with a guy with different surnames, we are not married. Of the three hotels we stayed in, none of the staff ever asked us for confirmation of our marriage certificate, and no questions were asked.

if foreigners - yes, if the guy is Moroccan, then somehow it's not real.
