I don’t know how it will be with snow this year, but for the last two years there was nothing to do in Stary Smokovec. The hotel is excellent, a magnificent Spa center. The breakfasts are good, I don’t advise taking dinners, it’s better to walk around different huts, there is enough of this stuff in Smokovets, be sure to visit Belikova Hut on the mountain, to the right of the funicular (above), order Slivovitz "special" there - thing.

The cost of food per person is 10-15 euros with beer. The food is great, the beer is excellent, especially our favorite dish is Knee. The cost of the lift last year for 6 days is 130 euros. to put the child on skis. A cool instructor for children Peter (a school near the funicular), speaks good Russian.

Yes, I also forgot to say that in Stary Smokovets you can eat in a cafe, such as fast food (behind the Grand Hotel), it will be cheaper. In general, last year we spent 800 euros for three adults in 8 days (with lifts, nothing to ourselves without refusing). And yet, if you like saunas, then take a tour with a paid Spa center, you will walk, at least every day. In general, this is the best hotel in Stary Smokovec.

The hotel is probably the best (Grandhotel), but how much does it cost? I looked - 150-160 euros for two. For Slovakia, this is very cool. The trick is that there is good service everywhere, in any boarding house, and there is no point in overpaying. The hotel where I stayed - now costs about 50 Euros for two. And everything is there and spa and sauna, etc.

You do not look at the prices of the hotel, the operators offer completely different amounts for package tours. And there are no miracles, since the price is cheaper - it's not just that. Who wants to relax comfortably, Grand is the best place in Smokovec. You can save 100 euros, and get a rest on the service worse by an order of magnitude, if you are satisfied with the price of the Grand, do not even think about it.

I just don't agree with this. I'm talking about the fact that in Slovakia there is a high level of service everywhere, everything is clean. In Turkey, this would be the case. I have nothing against the Grand Hotel, only it is the most expensive there, the choice is much larger. Several hotels in Strbsko Pleso, the same Patria, Fis - they are all cheaper. And there are a lot of them in Sokovets. No need to fixate people on this Grandhotel.

Different people come to this site, and I am for ensuring that the information is as objective as possible, so that a person does not swear later when he arrives in some country. And the objective information is as follows - in Slovakia there are a very large number of good hotels, I don’t know a single “hostel”, and there is no point in paying 160 euros for a room, it’s better to spend this difference on something else. The same Patria costs 90 euros, no more, but it is much better located. No, if people have a lot of money, then they can live in the Grandhotel, but, I think, people like that go to Switzerland or Austria. I am for objectivity, on this site the most important thing.

Apparently, we have different concepts of a comfortable stay. I don’t talk about Turkey at all, I don’t like it. And you name some cheap super hotel, but you don’t even name it. To be honest, we didn’t go, because we ski and can’t sacrifice even one day, but I know that there are excursions. I would advise you to take a ride to Poprad to the water park, you can even hit the train to Vienna night there, night back, day in Vienna. You can go to thermal springs, to Bratislava. In principle, the operator offers excursions.

I personally immediately realized that people we have already decided on the hotel, and most importantly, that they are traveling with a child, and this also obliges. And my requirements are not too high, it’s just that if you have the opportunity to relax with pleasure, then why not? Yes, the Grand is not cheap for Slovakia, but in Austria ( for example) a hotel of this level will cost 4 times more, not to mention everything else (this is about the fact that people who don’t care how much to pay vacation in other countries). And why did you decide that people just decided "ascetically "go skiing? Everyone has the right to choose their vacation according to their pocket and taste.

We were there in 2007. Everything Jabetta writes is correct, it is a very nice hotel. Spa included should be, swimming pool, saunas. Friendly staff. Near the ski lift - 50 meters. About the hut on the right - take Tatra tea there, you should like it :).

I do not think that they have risen radically in price, but the fact that this is not the cheapest holiday is also true. Especially considering the prices for ski equipment rental. However, these are inevitable expenses, so relax, breathe in the fresh mountain air and swim in the pool for your pleasure. The conditions for this are more than excellent. To rest good!
